Idea: South Africa needs to build a public ledger to track ALL tenders issued by the government. Build it on the Blockchain. Every tender. Every contract. All progress payments. All bid documents and his committee minutes. All the minutes of the adjudication committee. Every contractor should have a credibility score (publicly published) based on their track record, regulatory approvals (where necessary), and balance sheet. The only way to stop thievery is to bring all this information to the forefront. Hide nothing. If you want public money, you must be willing to withstand public scrutiny. PS: you can exempt state security and sensitive arms of governments from this by empowering the port. Comms in parliament to actually do their jobs. But I can’t see how else the thuggery will stop unless you expose everything. What do you think?

I think it’s time for society to revisit an era when those calling for war had to lead their troops into battle themselves. Maybe then people would grasp the gravity of war. It’s ironic how so many of these “armchair warriors” hide behind anonymous or fake accounts on social media, spouting calls for death without the courage to show their true faces. They talk about bombs, nukes, and drones as if they’re just ordering a pizza through Uber Eats, completely disconnected from the reality of what they’re advocating. Welcome to the age of the courageous keyboard soldiers, where bravado reigns, but action is nowhere to be found.
