Tarik Skubal last pitched on Wednesday so he would be on 5 days rest on Tuesday and 6 days rest on Wednesday when #Dodgers are at Wrigley Field.

This looks like a feel good movie, but it would be misleading to not include the real life more complex elements: - Hollywood didn’t totally cave to his demand to play Rocky, he had to give up the rights to the film which is why producer Irwin Winkler has them. - His first wife Sasha who this movie says encouraged him to write Rocky for himself, ended up divorcing him for cheating on her and spending their money on those affairs, etc

I don't know who still needs to hear me say it, but yeah, I was wrong about Jacob Misiorowski. I wish I could have foreseen the big leap in control this year -- as some others, to their credit, did -- but I didn't. And so I missed out. Framing every start he makes around the thing I said feels very Skip Bayless, so I try not to make it a regular habit, but yeah, I acknowledge it. What I wouldn't want to do in response is shy away from making similarly bold bust calls because I'm afraid that the upside outcome could reflect poorly on me. I deliberately went the less-than-obvious route with my initial bust list this year and got quite a bit of pushback on it. A lot of those calls (Jackson Merrill, Alex Bregman, Nolan McLean, Robbie Ray, Jakob Marsee, Taylor Ward, Edward Cabrera, etc.) are looking pretty good right now (albeit with a long way to go still), but I'd rather not harp on that either. I'm always going to grade myself more on the reasoning than the results, because no matter how the results go, there has to be a *next* prediction. If I seize up because I got burned that one time, which is an instinct that I've had to fight throughout my career, my bust list will have all the impact of a wet dish rag. But I do wish I had reasoned differently on Misiorowski. It would be nice to have some shares!

@CBSScottWhite There needs to be a floor & owners that pocket revenue sharing should be held accountable. But “Owner Rich = Spend $$$” is not as black & white as most people make it in a league without a salary cap & a without a shared national tv $ pot like the NFL.

@CBSScottWhite Scott, you’re fighting a losing battle. Avg person is economically illiterate, especially with big numbers. They can’t grasp net worth vs liquidity, cash flow, marketable securities etc. Tigers CAN afford him. Doesn’t mean it’s a good investment relative to revenue & op expenses

Just like I can afford a bigger house and a nicer car, but there are tradeoffs to these things. I've decided I'd be stretched too thin in other areas if I pushed to the max of what the bank says I can afford (or anywhere close, really), so I don't. And then when someone asks why I'm not driving *that* car instead, I say "can't afford to."
