@AnthonyHigman Last round I did I was very impressed with how much research everyone did. Thanks you emails were about 50%. What seniority are you hiring for? This was entry level and most had just graduated. I was so impressed I sent some to other agencies b/c they deserved a job
English

Just Wrapped Up A Round Of Interviews And I Was Astonished At How Many People Didnt Even Read The Job Description And Or Do Any Research About Our Company In Both 1st And 2nd Round. Also No ONE Sent Follow Up Emails.
Wondering If This Ai Related And If Anyone Else Has Had Similar Experiences Recently?
Seemed Like Night And Day From Our Last Round Of Interviews Like 8 Months Ago.

@AkvileDeFazio Yep have been struggling with this - the worst is when a client complains and we have to take screenshots of us having turned it off and it still turns back on
English

@selley2134 These are such diverse skill sets that I don’t think are even good positioning for an agency. You gotta be the best in 1-2 areas as opposed to doing whatever the client wants.
English

@bkrudy Yeah, I have never liked having AMs. Would rather just hire PPCers with enough personal skills to talk to clients directly.
Financially, it's a drain on the agency as well
English

@selley2134 Red flag in 2025 is agencies with client facing account managers.
The days of needing or wanting an account manager has past. The vast majority of clients want to work directly with those doing the work, and eliminate vast amounts of red tape (time).
English

@CJSlattery We use our reporting way more internally than our clients use it.
Helps us spot trends, issues, opportunities but we also set it up very simply b/c we know most clients don't acually look at it.
English

@DavidKyle It was the AM from the other agency that was hired by the OEM.
The entire email is BS and just not how Google works but either they dont know that or thought that my client wouldnt know that
English

@selley2134 Who wrote that? A Googler? That rather statement is BS. There's an internal auction between the accounts competing for the same domain, and the winner goes to the external auction with the other domains.
English

@MenachemAni 100%. they weren't trying to bid on our brand but saying they are running a competitor campaign using broad match just doesnt make any sense at all it is going to canabalize every franchise account. This is why brands (this is GM) piss me off so much when they try to control ads
English

@selley2134 I think people bid on competitors' terms without realizing — through Broad Match and Performance Max.
English

@AnthonyHigman Every comment here is like "well it doesn't matter cause they suck anyway"
Was this their plan the whole time? Let's have things get so bad that when we take it away, nobody will care. Not looking good for keywords....
English

No matter how many times I "unsubscribe" they just keep coming @LinkedInMktg. Already unsubscribed twice today and just got this.

English

@JaredDHardin I would ask:
if they have clients with similar budgets to you
how would they split budget between platforms
What campaign types and bidding strategies they will use
Niche companies are often harder as there is less data. So making sure they have knowledge/exp would be key
English

@selley2134 @MenachemAni @MSAdvertising Just got an update from engineering - they deployed a fix and it should be resolved (though they suggested logging out of your current browser session before checking.
@selley2134 can you let me know if the issue is persisting?
English

so is @MSAdvertising down for everyone? Havent been able to load anything since yesterday afternoon.
English

@N8Louis I think we are talking more about non-solicitation vs non-compete here.
I get wanting to protect clients and processes/tech and have less issue with that than limiting where the person can work
English

@selley2134 Now, I will say, having employees sign a non-compete/disclosure without reason is BS. I only asked those who are interact with customers or have access to proprietary info/processes sign them. If someone didn't, no way I would ask that of someone. It wouldn't be right.
English

@N8Louis Not really. This all stemmed from a hypothetical. But something like a dentist or back surgeon, who would have limited opportunity (especially if they have a mileage clause).
English

@selley2134 Do you have an example of a skillset? Also, was it developed by the company or did they have that skillset when they arrived?
