47 teams just finished 5 weeks of building at Solana Network State Spring 2026. 27 in KL. 20 at @ns, Forest City. here's what nobody tells you about running a builder residency from the inside. the engagement problem nobody warns you about @hanstmy and I were both based at NS. but our @SuperteamMY community isn't just NS - we had teams across KL and other parts of Malaysia too. so we built a parallel track. @dumbledyor and @ilovetofupeach ran sessions on the ground in KL. every workshop we ran physically at @ns was available online, and we posted all recordings in our Telegram community too. it worked. but it took people most programs never budget for - community members who just showed up and made it happen. the touch grass fund is a godsend one thing @superteam got right early: a small fund that lets members host local events in their own cities. it democratises the program. you don't need to be at NS to be part of what we're building. You could host member meetups, watch parties for the workshops or even a fun pickleball session from anywhere in MY. shoutout to @AWSstartups - Marc and @GhazanfarIqbal have been quiet but consistent supporters, opening up their office so builders across MY had somewhere to actually gather, and promoting within the AWS community Solana Day was a scramble we pulled together a full @solana Day at NS in under a week. @SolanaFndn, @Superscrypt and @MesaStudio_so came down (or up!) to Forest City. builders pitched. it was a great day. but behind the scenes: we were coordinating a bus from KL and SG the night before. pickup point not confirmed until midnight. the bus couldn't park at KL Sentral so it parked 1km away instead. at 5:30am, 20+ people were running around KL Sentral looking for a bus they couldn't find. luckily we had @ilovetofupeach coordinating everything on the ground. and when they finally arrived, the co-working space was another 1km from where the bus dropped them. we had an absolute legend of a community member just driving people back and forth in his own car to shuttle builders from the hotel to the venue. he got a t-shirt for it. legend status confirmed. none of it would have come together without @yash_luna, @brianchau57, @_itsfranco and @vrneth from the NS core team - getting the beautiful backdrop you see at the front of the hotel up on time, sorting the bus company, showing up last minute to hand out merch and deliver a short speech. that's the version you don't see in the recap tweet. no designer. no merch supplier. no problem. we didn't know any merch suppliers in Johor and had no dedicated designer. so we reached out to 3 suppliers cold. Rafflestag was an absolute legend, turning around rushed orders in record time. Even replying me into the wee hours of the night with screenshots of merch from the factory floor. and we did what any scrappy community does - we turned to our own people. our talented Alia and @Ponderman_NFT designed our t-shirts, stickers, pins and wristbands. they were bangers. the supplier couldn't deliver everything one go, so we staggered it. week by week, one item at a time. showed up to Roast My Pitch? you got something. made it to Solana Day? you got the full set. we accidentally gamified the merch. it worked better than a one-time drop would have. our $10K local prize pool became $31.5K @sns, @magicblock and @KiraPayOfficial came in with side tracks that added serious prize value on top of the global @colosseum pool. then we opened a separate NS-only track. @jelawangcapital, @AppWorks and @cradlefund lended us their brightest (and office space!), and will all be at Demo Day on May 25 in KL. choosing side track winners wasn't simple. judges @decentra1ized_ from @SolanaFndn, @cebillhsu from @AppWorks and @ryantjhin_ from @cfldotfun had real debates - fairness, product quality, Solana narrative fit. it was tough ngl, cos there were so many outstanding teams, and a set number of prizes. 30+ workshops. 0 gaps. we had partners come in from across the ecosystem to help us ship. every single one of them gave our builders something real to work with. and then there were the people you never (or sometimes) saw @nikkideyy - documenting everything, running around snapping pictures, then hammering away on her laptop to make sure we shipped it fast. @semiii - helping every builder and dev, connecting them with the right mentors, being the person who actually knew how everything worked. @thesensedotsol - shooting all the videos, taking pics, turning our chaotic ideas into things you could actually watch. @littleunusualMY - coming up with banger brain rot videos for the Superteam x NS perk recipients, and the @RedotsClub community event in KL. and @hanstmy. the best co-lead I could have asked for. covering every blind spot I missed. setting up buntings and banners in the middle of the night with Semi so the library and co-working space was ready before the builders walked in the next morning. finally, the real cheat code we could not have run this program without the builders and members themselves. the ones who flew in. the ones who drove 4+ hours. the ones who stayed. the ones who showed up at 5:30am looking for a bus in the rain. the ones who came back week after week for Roast My Pitch just to get a sticker. you are the program. Demo Day is May 25 in KL - NS builders are coming to you this time. see you there 🫡
