The problem with Ghana’s politics is mainly that it’s a popularity and pay-to-win contest. It’s not about policy; it’s about who can be pragmatic and charismatic enough to gain vote, or simply who can bus more people to vote on Election Day.

You cannot refer a patient to infrastructure that does not exist. We overcomplicate problems, and their solutions, with technology. Sometimes the solution isn’t another system, app, or digital dashboard. Sometimes the solution is simple: build the beds, space and the capacity.

Build more hospitals. Expand patient care units in the ones we already have. Ensure there is always a surplus of beds, not last-minute scrambling during emergencies. What is the point of a referral system if there are no beds available for patients to be referred to? 1/2
