@JaretGold @chnews Yeah, that's why I said "many" rather than "all." You have to thread that needle, and also PSU doesn't win again, and also Ohio State doesn't lose to Wisconsin again tomorrow, etc. I think the biggest threat is actually Wisc or ND winning the Big Ten and stealing a fourth spot.

@sendmehome @chnews Quinnipiac could jump us by going somewhat deep in the ECAC tournament, yet falling say in the Finals. If Quinnipiac loses in the finals, the ECAC is very likely a 2-bid league all of the sudden

Per @chnews, Penn State hockey now has a 98% chance of making it to the NCAA tournament. There are a couple nightmare scenarios in which they end up missing, but they are in a very good spot

@chnews @JaretGold Presumably though, since Quinnipiac's behind PSU now, many scenarios where they don't win the ECAC are irrelevant.

@JaretGold definitely much closer to being able to celebrate now :) -- but still caution that the Matrix probably overstates Quinnipiac's chances of winning the ECAC Tournament.

Launching Threads early to take advantage of a Twitter catastrophe doesn’t seem so smart once you step back and remember that there is a Twitter catastrophe every weekend.

As ever, the only two real threats to Twitter are its management and its users.

Twitter is neither an existential threat to Meta nor a potentially huge business. Meta will treat Threads like a sideshow/hobby. Yet Another Twitter Clone simply dilutes the potential for any one competitor to be the Reddit to Twitter’s Digg.

I love thinking about rules engines, but I almost always find a simpler, better solution whenever I try to apply them. I'm not sure what to make of this.
