Terrible loss for local news at CTV today. Yet another round of cuts that sacrifice community reporting and talented journalists, in favour of the bottom line. Wishing the best for everyone affected and relieved that our weekend anchor up north is staying on.

Thank you to the agencies for the access to their teams, to the workers I spoke with for their honesty, the homeless community for their trust -- and to my station for giving me the time to pursue this. It was an honour to put together and the news coverage won't end here.

Crime, drugs and homelessness are polarizing, complex issues. I hope this in-depth look at aspects of them will keep the conversation going, and encourage a deeper understanding of the issues, the people who are working to solve them and the stories of the homeless community.
