The "close friend" from the article, Lauren Serpa, responded to this article on her facebook page last night. It appears that the writer may have misrepresented her relationship with Nancy. Glad to see she was able to clear things up.

Lauren Serpa — the woman seen in many videos caring for Nancy Guthrie’s flowers says media has made some assumptions. Facebook Post— “Nancy Guthrie. I have just seen another article that places me as being a close friend of Nancy's. I am not. I havent seen her in years or spoken to her in quite awhile. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Annie, Cameron and Savannah. I consider Nancy a friend for what she did for me years ago. It is not fair to the family that I am represented as someone close. This of course will not stop me from keeping up the fight to find Nancy and keeping the awareness going for her. For anyone who is unfamiliar with my connection please read the post I made on April 1st. My goal here is now and has always been to do what I can to keep this 84 year old beautiful sole out there until she is found. That's it. Her family and her close friends need her home. Im not part of that group even though she holds a special place in my heart for her kindness to me and words of wisdom. @Christinelb563 @rickvaz This is what happens when you dont do your homework. I met Nancy outside the family "close friend group." I have never met the family. Yes I text Annie for permission to take care of the memorial. She does not respond to me anymore probably because of all the BS being said.

Nancy Guthrie. I have totally had it with Social Media, and media in general. I have NEVER said I was a close friend of Nancy's ever. I shouldn't have to keep defending myself. The family has enough to deal with without people writing this stuff. Read my FB on April 1st.

I havent posted on X about this until now. I have been taking care of the memorial for Nancy Guthrie jn front of her house for awhile now. She help me emotionally when my fiancé died in 2015 and we always kept in touch. Nancy needs to be found for the family.

@keith_s51246 The HOA got back to me and they are not the ones who called for the removal of the memorial. They stated the support Nancy Guthrie and the family.
