@JJ_McCullough @LionBlogosphere I wouldn't want to drink a cup of plain hot water with milk and sugar in it. People drink coffee for the coffee flavour. Maybe they're conditioned in some way to like it, but you could make that argument for every food with a unique flavour

@LionBlogosphere I don’t think I owe anyone a compelling justification for why I *haven’t* done something. I haven’t eaten rocks either. I feel like the onus should be on people to tell me why I SHOULD consume caffeine, and I’ve never heard a persuasive argument as far as that goes.

Vancouver is rough these days. I went for a long walk last night and it’s shocking how many stores and restaurants and cafes have recently gone out of business. And of course the hobo situation is still appalling. We’re lucky we have all this natural beauty to boost our spirits.
