Remember the $3200 fundraiser for the AI drone? I’m back after 6 months to report: it worked. MVP cost $4420 ($3200 from you, $1220 mine). It orients, understands commands via LLM, executes perfectly. Next step: test ground. Thanks to all who believed. #armenia

U.S. Congress Demands Release of #Armenian POWs and Right of Return for #Armenians to #Artsakh On April 2, the #US Congress held its annual event commemorating the #ArmenianGenocide Officials from both parties participating in the event called for the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war held by #Azerbaijan, the guarantee of the right of return for displaced Armenians of Artsakh, and urged the U.S. government to impose sanctions on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for war crimes and genocidal ethnic cleansing. The event, titled “A Look Back at the 2023 Artsakh Genocide: Remembering the Armenian Genocide (1915-1923),” was organized by the Armenian National Committee of America (#ANCA) and held in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. Twelve members of the Senate and House of Representatives spoke at the event. This annual gathering on Capitol Hill serves as a reminder that justice requires not only remembrance but also action.

AI-DRONE: INTERIM RESULTS OF THE FIRST TESTS Do you remember how we raised funds for the AI drone project? Well, here are the results of our work with algorithms and the first tests. The graphs compare two neural network training methods: the classical approach and our improved version. The first graph shows how quickly errors (losses) decrease during training—the lower, the better. The second graph illustrates how accuracy improves over time. The conventional method (blue) learns slowly, and its accuracy improves reluctantly. Our method (orange) reduces errors faster and reaches high accuracy more quickly. This means the AI drone will make decisions more precisely and swiftly, allowing it to eliminate enemies faster and more effectively than any existing counterparts. This is just one component, but even here, it’s clear—our mathematical approach works brilliantly. And this is only the beginning.

BREAKING: European Parliament Passes Resolution, Demands Immediate & Unconditional Release of Armenian Prisoners & Condemns Sham Trials in Azerbaijan ➖➖➖ The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling for the unconditional release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan and condemning what it describes as unlawful detentions and sham trials against former officials and civilians from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The resolution, passed on March 13 with 523 votes in favor, 3 against, and 84 abstentions, highlights human rights concerns and urges strong EU action in response. The resolution demands the immediate release and safe return of all Armenian prisoners, including high-ranking officials from Artsakh. It also welcomes the statement by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, who has expressed concern about the treatment of detainees. Azerbaijan is accused of holding unfair trials against detained individuals, with the resolution strongly condemning these proceedings as violating due process. Lawmakers argue that the charges against detainees are fabricated, and the trials lack transparency, raising concerns about political motivations behind the arrests. The European Parliament calls on Azerbaijan to uphold its international commitments by ensuring humane treatment for prisoners. This includes access to medical care, sufficient food and water, and protection from torture and ill-treatment. The resolution stresses that failing to meet these obligations constitutes a serious breach of human rights. A key aspect of the resolution is its demand for consequences against Azerbaijani officials involved in these detentions. It calls for a ban on entry to EU institutions for those responsible, including judges Zeynal Agayev, Jamal Ramazanov, Anar Rzayev, and prosecutors handling these cases. In response to broader allegations of human rights abuses, the resolution urges the International Criminal Court to investigate reports of forced displacement, persecution, and ethnic cleansing of Armenians from Artsakh. This step is aimed at holding those accountable for any crimes committed against the region’s Armenian population. The resolution raises concerns about Azerbaijan’s decision to shut down UN agencies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Baku. The ICRC was the only international organization with access to the detained Armenian officials, and its closure limits humanitarian oversight, increasing concerns about the prisoners’ welfare. Beyond the immediate issue of prisoners, the European Parliament also condemns the broader repression of civil society and independent media in Azerbaijan. Lawmakers argue that crackdowns on journalists, activists, and opposition voices further highlight the country’s deteriorating human rights record. As part of its response, the resolution reiterates a call to suspend the EU’s strategic energy partnership with Azerbaijan. Lawmakers demand clear human rights benchmarks for future cooperation, including the release of all political prisoners and respect for internationally recognized borders. The resolution suggests that Azerbaijan’s failure to uphold democratic values should impact its economic and diplomatic ties with the EU. Additionally, the resolution criticizes Azerbaijan for failing to ratify key International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions related to forced labor, occupational safety, and social security. By pointing out these shortcomings, the European Parliament highlights broader concerns about workers’ rights and labor protections in the country. The resolution has been forwarded to the European Council, the European Commission, the Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs, EU member states, and the Azerbaijani government. This step increases international pressure on Azerbaijan to address human rights concerns and respond to the EU’s demands.

From a #Baku Prison, Ruben Vardanyan Calls for a Real and Long-Term Peace During a phone call, Ruben Vardanyan sent an audio message through his family, asking for it to be published. In the recorded voice message, he calls for peace based on fundamental human values and dignity: “I am an optimist, and I believe that despite everything, we will overcome all the challenges and difficulties before us and once again live in our homeland in peace with our neighbor, respecting each other and overcoming… overcoming mutual hostility and the accumulated anger and hatred, just as some nations have managed to do. But if we truly want to achieve this, we need a genuinely stable and long-term peace—not just signed on paper, but implemented in reality.” The full text of his message is available via the link. 00:20 – Vardanyan thanks supporters, talks about his health, and apologizes to his loved ones. 01:01 – Vardanyan speaks about his journey, explains his hunger strike as a protest against the trial, and calls for the legal process to be conducted fairly. 02:47 – Vardanyan describes the trial as a case against all #Armenians and claims that #Azerbaijan will not stop there. 03:58 – Vardanyan asks for forgiveness from those he has wronged and for what he was unable to accomplish in #NagornoKarabakh. 05:23 – Vardanyan thanks the people of #Artsakh and acknowledges achievements in the region. 06:25 – Vardanyan urges against spreading evil, warning that otherwise, pogroms and ethnic strife may follow. He also expresses gratitude to certain #Azerbaijanis for their humane treatment. 07:17 – Vardanyan expresses hope for lasting peace and for the emergence of an Armenian elite that will care for the nation’s future. 08:24 – Vardanyan calls on Armenians to uphold positive values, notes that he is happy even in his cell because he is at peace with himself, and warns against despair, calling it the gravest sin.

On the broadcast with Tigran Avakyan, an important thought was voiced: Armenian diasporas outside Armenia are doomed to assimilation and complete dissolution. Garegin Nzhdeh once expressed the same idea, but in the past, it seemed that history contradicted this thesis. In the Ottoman and Safavid Empires, #Armenians not only did not disappear but, on the contrary, their numbers increased. However, the key factor that changed the perspective on this issue is the difference in cultural and religious environments. In Muslim countries, this difference was immense, which contributed to the preservation of #Armenian identity. In #Christian countries, such differences are smaller, and this is precisely why assimilation occurs much faster. In the Ottoman Empire, Armenians lived under the millet system, which legally secured their distinct status. This meant that Armenians had their own religious and civil self-governance, their own schools, courts, and even internal economic ties. Under such conditions, interethnic marriages were rare, and transitioning from one community to another was nearly impossible. In Persia, where Armenians also formed a significant merchant and artisan class, they had the status of a separate social group, further reducing the likelihood of cultural dissolution. Moreover, Islamic law restricted marriages between Muslims and non-Muslims, further strengthening the internal cohesion of Armenian communities. This allowed them not only to survive but also to expand their influence, creating powerful economic and cultural centers such as Armenian Julfa in Iran or Armenian trade quarters in Istanbul. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the situation changed. In countries with a Christian majority, such as France, Russia, the United States, and Canada, there are no legal or religious barriers to assimilation. Moreover, such societies actively encourage interethnic marriages and the integration of minorities. This leads to the loss of language, culture, and, consequently, the gradual dissolution of Armenians in the surrounding environment. According to the 2010 census, 38% of Armenians in Russia knew the Armenian language, while by 2021, this figure had dropped to 28%. In the U.S., only 15-20% of second-generation Armenian children are fluent in Armenian. This process is accompanied by the weakening of key diaspora institutions, such as churches and educational establishments. While Armenian schools and community structures once formed a strong cultural foundation, today, many Armenian families prefer to enroll their children in regular schools, where national identity is lost by the second or third generation. History provides numerous examples of how Armenian communities have disappeared from certain regions. In Italy, Venice was a major Armenian center in the Middle Ages, but by the 20th century, Armenians had practically vanished there. In Poland, Armenian merchants played a significant role in the economy in the 17th-18th centuries, but over time, they fully assimilated. In Georgia, Armenians made up over 60% of Tbilisi’s population in the 19th century, but today, they account for less than 5%. These facts demonstrate that even powerful diasporas that preserved their identity for centuries can completely dissolve under certain conditions. Thus, the smaller the cultural and religious differences between Armenians and their surrounding environment, the faster assimilation takes place. In Muslim countries, the barriers were so strong that Armenians maintained their distinctiveness even under pressure, whereas in Christian countries, this process happens naturally and imperceptibly. Therefore, I now fully agree with both Tigran Avakyan and Garegin Nzhdeh: if you want your grandchildren to remain Armenian, you need to move and live in #Armenia.

#Azerbaijan continues its occupation and colonial policies, and the trial of Ruben Vardanyan is not a trial at all but a public execution meant to assert #Baku’s power not only over #Artsakh but also over the consciousness of the entire #Armenian people. This is a show of force, a crude attempt to demonstrate that any Armenian who dares to defend their rights will be destroyed. Vardanyan is not just a hostage—he is a symbol, and this farce is directed against everyone who has stood in defense of Artsakh. Their goal is to erase even the memory of resistance, to force Armenians to accept a new reality where their fate is no longer in their own hands but controlled by foreign forces acting from a position of power. But what is really behind this process? It is not merely revenge for his activities in Artsakh, nor just an attempt to intimidate those who continue the struggle. It is the continuation of a long-established scenario in which Armenians are assigned the role of a subjugated nation, stripped of the right to statehood and independence. Today, they put Vardanyan on trial; tomorrow, they will claim that all of Armenian history is a myth; and the day after, they will demand recognition of their right to Yerevan. This is not an isolated case—it is a systemic policy, and it will not stop until Armenians realize one fundamental truth: compromise with those who build their identity on our blood is impossible. And there should be no illusions about international structures, human rights organizations, and other institutions that silently observe this process. They do not care about justice or human rights; they care about a controlled territory and obedient puppets. They remained silent in 2020 when Armenians were massacred in Artsakh, they were silent when our prisoners were tortured and executed, and they are silent now because, to them, Armenians are nothing more than a bargaining chip in foreign geopolitical games. But the greatest threat is not even this. The most dangerous thing is the internal fracture, where among us there are still those who naively hope for foreign protection, who believe in agreements, in “settlements,” in a “peace process.” 2020 did not wake them up, the exodus of 2023 did not wake them up, and this will not wake them up either. They will continue to wait for justice in a world ruled only by the law of force. This trial of Vardanyan is a moment of truth. Either we understand that we have no allies, that our security is only in our own hands, that dialogue with those who dream of our disappearance is impossible—or we will simply cease to exist. They want to turn Vardanyan into yet another testament to our weakness, but we must ensure that this process becomes a point of no return. Armenians can no longer afford to be victims. We will either take our destiny into our own hands—or disappear. P.S. This is my conclusion from his address. #Azerbaijan has completely destroyed the village of Mariamadzor in #Artsakh – Monument Watch “Satellite images taken in 2019 and 2024 indicate the complete destruction of the village,” reports the organization Monument Watch. Mariamadzor was one of the picturesque villages of the Hadrut region in Artsakh. Among its historical and cultural monuments were the #Church of St. Minas (16th-17th centuries), the Shenin Bridge, and the Vnesaberd Fortress (12th-14th centuries). The #Armenian authorities are imposing new “recommendations” on hotels—now, hotel owners are being pressured to set up prayer rooms (musalla) to meet the demands of Arab tourists. If they refuse, they may lose their licenses. Officially, this is justified as a way to attract the Arab market, but shouldn’t businesses decide for themselves what benefits them? This is not just about guest convenience. It’s about imposing foreign norms under the guise of economic necessity. Today, prayer rooms in hotels; tomorrow, in shopping malls, cinemas, and restaurants. Step by step, this doesn’t just reshape the tourism industry—it alters the cultural fabric of the country itself. When businesses are forced to adopt certain traditions, this is no longer economics but a deliberate shift in social norms.

Karo Paylan visited a school in #Yerevan, where he promoted love for Turks. During the meeting, he spoke about the need for #Armenians to live in peace with Turks and eliminate hostility; otherwise, Turks would once again start massacring Armenians. As an example, he mentioned the struggle for Artsakh’s survival, saying that thousands of young people like you also went to war—and they were all killed. I want to analyze his message—it is very brief but highly significant. First, he openly threatens by using the fear of renewed violence from the Turks. Second, he demonizes the struggle, claiming that its outcome is death. In other words, he discredits the very idea of resistance, shifting the focus from the causes of the war to its consequences. Third, he rewrites the historical narrative: eliminating hostility must be a two-sided process. This means that Turks themselves should not resist historical justice and must recognize the #genocide. Most importantly, he manipulates the meaning of “peace” and “submission.” Essentially, he is proposing capitulation to the Turks. When such events take place in educational institutions, it means there is a clear roadmap for influencing young people and distorting their worldview. It is obvious that he did not just throw out a couple of phrases and leave—he was engaged in deliberate propaganda. Such individuals must never be allowed near young people or given any platform for a monologue.
