Today, we held a highly productive and engaging Governance and Service Delivery Meeting with the leadership of Chegutu Municipality, where we collectively mapped the developmental trajectory of Chegutu West Constituency. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Town Clerk, departmental heads, and ward councillors, to review ongoing service delivery, assess critical infrastructure needs, and align on practical, results-driven solutions to challenges affecting our communities. Our discussions were focused, candid, and forward-looking, grounded in a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for our people through efficient service delivery, accountability, and strategic development planning. We have agreed on clear areas of action and strengthened coordination between my office and the local authority to ensure that progress is not only planned, but executed. I am pleased to have presided over the signing of the 2026 Performance-Based Contracts at the Harare International Conference Centre this morning. Under the Second Republic, the days of 'business as usual' are behind us. These contracts are not just documents; they are a sacred pact between the Government and the people of Zimbabwe. By aligning our targets with NDS2 and our Vision 2030 goals, we are ensuring that every official, from Ministers to heads of parastatals, is held accountable for delivering tangible results.
