Day 1 of ethical hacking. I'm using @thecybermentor course on @udemy. I'm setting up my lab so while that happens I'm watching videos (start previously so I moved forward a bit) I'm on section 9 Information Gathering. #BlackTechTwitter

Nothing prepares you for the emotional damage of typing a Linux command exactly like the tutorial… …and still getting an error. You stare at the screen like: “bro what do you want from me?”

Downloaded Security Onion thinking I was about to become an elite SOC analyst overnight. 3 hours later: fighting VirtualBox RAM crying for help Linux teaching me humility staring at logs like ancient hieroglyphics Real cybersecurity experience has officially begun 😂

Taking a 4hr course on PS tomorrow so I can get better at scripting and automation. Being laid off don't mean I get to be lazy. Taking this time to get my skills up before the next opportunity comes along.

As a beginner in cybersecurity, don’t let social media intimidate you. You’ll see professionals talking about SIEMs, malware analysis, threat hunting, cloud security, reverse engineering, and a hundred tools you’ve never heard of yet. That’s normal. Most of them didn’t know those things when they started either. Don’t panic about job requirements or “everything you must know.” Focus on learning one thing at a time. Networking, Linux, logs, and basic security concepts are enough to start building. Cybersecurity is not a race. The people you admire today were once confused beginners too.
