@morghul_ Yeah, they have research now that shows that female fetuses are more resilient and survive when the mother is under a lot of stress, which I think happened to both. Cuz we all start female in the womb anyways, it could be that the fetus “knows” it’ll be easier to survive to birth

@gloomyj3lly Their point is that its not intuitive for people who aren't fans of hockey, or similar sports to even think of these things. The premier league, the AFL don't have divisions or conferences that determine which team plays, so you wouldn't even think to look it up.

i would understand this mindset if HR was the type of hockey romance where hockey doesn’t actually matter much but it’s like an incredibly integral part of the story. so i don’t get not doing like basic surface level research for a fic 🤷♀️

I do think an amount of the stuff actual hockey fans get annoyed about is counter intuitive to non sport fans - I never would've thought to Google what teams can play in the finals because I would just assume any teams can make it there

@hadalzoner I read a lot of books in a year and I feel weird about sharing it because I know people sometimes are jerks about it. As someone who stood out as a bookworm as a kid that feels like the wrong way to enjoy books

also judging people & their media literacy by their reading goals is extremely bizzare. you can effectively spend an entire year analyzing one book paragraph by paragraph, and you can also read 500 books without skipping or skimming. I thought that was common sense
