I used to say this to parents... The strange part of true developmental football is that while you want to win every game, you also almost want to get a level of competition where you are losing games. Obviously not because you are training or playing poorly, but because you are looking for an appropriate challenge for them to improve
Osku Partonen@Coach_Osku

If your team never struggles, they never improve. Players need to experience failure, pressure, and difficult moments. That’s where real growth happens.

@HiMyNameIsSeton Great question. I think travel is a question. Is your son able to play games locally? For my son (12 y/o) our travel is 2/3 hrs to a match, can only play weekends Also, consider training vs match ratio. 3 to 1 I think is ideal, is your son getting that Tovo?

I was just looking at the spring MLS Next schedule for a club here in Connecticut. 10 games. Is that accurate? My son will play 10 games this month alone in Spain. Since September he’s played 55 matches. Is the American model too light or the European model too heavy?

Due to personal and family priorities, I made the decision to step away from my Division III coaching role. That choice opened the door to an exciting opportunity — joining the Division I level as an assistant coach. Grateful for the journey and ready for what’s next. ⚽️

Big ⚽️news coming out of PIAA Board of Directors meeting yesterday -- getting word a recommendation was made to amend the adoption of PIAA Soccer Officiating Mechanics to Modify Rule 5-1-1, to use either a head referee and a referee or a head referee and two assistant referees (diagonal system of officiating) -- and eliminate the existing center referee and two side referees (double dual system of officiating) -- and it was passed. @pghsoccernow #WPIALSoccer #WPIAL

Steph Curry with a great message here about affecting the game, even when you don’t stat “If it’s not your night stat wise, whether you play two, 10, 20 minutes, come with the right energy.” A winner is a winner, no matter how many minutes they play

@ddraepw The set was awesome. I give it a solid B+. I’m probably a harsh grader because I didn’t know many of the songs

Drew’s Annual SB Halftime Grade: B-/C+ Good amount of spectacle, but not enough. Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin good cameos. Maybe it’s unfair I just need more WOW moments for Super Bowl show. Good show but nothing truly memorable.

@PaulSpacey @buildingaclub @_ToddBeane @AlexiLalas As a coach and history teacher, you ignored his first comment. Do you disagree that the President suggests policies which are unconstitutional? It would take the most extreme version of loose interpretation to allow for most of the Presidents policies.

It is increasingly clear that the careless mass introduction of 1:1 devices (on each kid's desk) in the 2010s was, at best, a waste of billions that could have been spent on teachers. At worst: a major cause of declining ed outcomes.
Chris Anderson@chr1sa

Of all the things I've been wrong about, the failure of edtech is the most disappointing. I was so taken with @khanacademy's notion of the "flipped classroom" (world class lectures online, collaborative work in the classroom), but a combination of the disastrous Covid-era remote school experience and the mounting evidence that screens are mostly a distraction for kids shows that this was wishful thinking. economist.com/united-states/…

My daughter played 2 mins vs USC… She ran at 6am that morning She shot over 500 3’s the day before She did PT after and ice bathed After the game, she got in the sauna and ran 2 miles to offset lack of game run. Staying ready is a mindset. It’s not for the weak minded. It’s for the dedicated who see a bigger future ahead and the few that believe they can do the job when called upon. This girl will see the fruits of her labor! No doubt! #StayLockedIn #EarnIt #WinTodaysBattle
