NATO was protecting the *NATO member countries*. It wasn't doing a damn thing for the people living in the countries behind the "Iron Curtain". They were in no way protected by NATO. Also, NATO could not have done anything to prevent the people living behind the Iron Curtain from moving to the USSR as refugees if they chose to do so.

Let's assume that the first part of your statement ("white men destabilize these countries") is true. If the white men are as awful as you claim, why don't the people in the destabilized countries invest their time in restabilizing them, rather than choose to relocate to the very places where the destabilizers live? How many people from the nations of eastern Europe chose to migrate to the USSR after their countries were turned upside down by the Red Army at the end of WWII? Practically none, because the prospect of living in the USSR actually *was* repugnant.
