Just launched my new personal website and I'm really happy with how it turned out 🌟 I work on AI-integrated nanopore biosensors at ANU If you're into biosensing, nanotech, or ML for diagnostics — come say hi: 🔗 duttshankar.com

(2/2) What we found: a disease-linked tRNA mutation traps the RNA in misfolded states. Backed it up with cryo-EM and synchrotron X-ray scattering. 3 million molecules. Three techniques. One story: RNA shape matters. Incredible collaboration across Australia 🇦🇺, USA 🇺🇸 & Poland 🇵🇱

@CranfordMATTER @amazon You should consider getting a Mac. With the new Macs, I can easily travel for a few days without needing an adapter.

Setback when I absent-mindedly forgot my laptop cord when heading to #S24MRS. I figured it was a pretty safe bet to have one over-nighted to the hotel from @Amazon... considering I'm in Seattle! Prime saved the day (and manuscript handling)!

3/4 Using nanopores fabricated in <10 nm thick silicon nitride membranes and leveraging high bandwidth instruments, we have realized F-values and specificity up to 88.7% and 96.4% respectively, in identifying combinations of four similar proteins.

@Sajeerp_ Not a bad idea, if we can make the nanopore linked with the quantum well inside the material... What do you and others think?

Considering all the #LK99 excitement this week, if your lab had, say, 60 days of magic and no experimental or synthesis attempt could fail*, what would you work on? *anything goes - alchemy, cold fusion, superconductivity, unobtainium permissible, unlimited resources

Big week in the lab.. smashed a few local records (and ok a few diamonds!). But look at our happy faces. These were our last few pressure steps (took a group pic each time in case it was the last).

8/8 Conclusively, our study shows that antioxidant content has a profound impact on the ion track structure and the degradation of the foil. The research opens up new perspectives on the interaction between swift heavy ions and polymer materials with different content.

7/8 Interestingly, the size of these ion tracks directly correlates with energy loss, indicating a strong relationship between energy deposited by the incoming ion and the ion track size/structure. #Physics
