The quiet tension underlying this visit: not whether India has interests in Israel, but whether it can hold the ring across a region that is emotionally and strategically combustible. Foreign policy is a chessboard. West Asia is not. It is a living, grieving, shifting landscape. India is betting it can move pieces without being seen as choosing sides permanently. Someone from your family has a high blood sugar level- 300 mg/dl. He is a diabetic for 20 years, and he developed the condition due to several factors which are still being researched. He wants to binge on sweets one night because of an important festival. He insists that it is a ritual in the family to celebrate with sweets and will not accept any rationing of the amount. Since he is already poorly controlled, the sweets will raise his blood sugar to 400 or 500 mg/dl, putting him at risk for serious complications, maybe requiring hospitalisation. The acute effect will be over in a couple of days but might leave residual damage, even if he escapes hospitalisation.
