@bensmithrugby Benny boy. South Africa 🇿🇦 has become the first nation in rugby history to defeat every Six Nations team and every Rugby Championship side within a 12 month period. The world number 1 Springboks completed this historic achievement with a 42-28 bonus point victory over Scotland.

Feel for the Bulls, three straight URC final losses. Four in five years. Another bridesmaid year for South African clubs! They just don’t get club rugby!

Well, well, well. They did not rate well, they did not attend well. And you know what else? They did not play well, those SA sides got smacked for the last decade by the NZ teams. Hammer-nail relationship. And they were the nail.
Captain Springbok@CaptSpringbok

Here’s the video of Jack Mesley saying the numbers are better now than when the SA teams were in Super Rugby. Interesting that, Martin Devlin’s last 25 TikTok uploads average about 8,000 views per video. This one? Currently 92,000 and counting. 🥴

This appointment will be a defining moment of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s presidency. After years of State Capture and institutional collapse, South Africa does not need another cautious, bureaucratic choice at the National Prosecuting Authority. It needs credibility restored — in the justice system and in the eyes of the public. The recent interviews for National Director of Public Prosecutions made the contrast clear. Some candidates were evasive or uninspiring. One has already been ruled constitutionally unfit for office in the past. Another collapsed under scrutiny of her own CV. And after six years, the current leadership has produced no major State Capture convictions, despite overwhelming evidence. One candidate stood apart. Advocate Hermione Cronje was calm, precise, and intellectually dominant. She spoke honestly about constraints, clearly about strategy, and with deep understanding of complex financial crime. Media, civil society and legal observers converged around her performance for a simple reason: she knows how to prosecute corruption properly. Her commitment to justice began early. As a student, she was actively involved in campus politics and served as SRC President at UCT, the first black woman to do so — leadership forged in accountability and institutional responsibility. That grounding explains why she has never chased headlines or political favour. As Head of the Investigating Directorate, she was asked to build a State Capture prosecution unit from nothing inside a damaged NPA. She rebuilt capacity, restored international cooperation, assembled specialist teams, and refused to bring weak cases for applause — even under political pressure. South Africa now faces a clear choice: another six years of excuses and failed prosecutions, or a credible, fearless, evidence-driven NPA able to prosecute powerful politicians and follow the money. If President Ramaphosa appoints Hermione Cronje, it will send a powerful signal that this presidency is serious about accountability, serious about justice, and serious about restoring public trust in the state. This is not just an appointment. It is a test of leadership and a moment that will define his legacy.

@englandcricket So it's going to be 3-0 in the series and all you English supporters said the Proteas didn't deserve to be in the World Test Championship final against the Aussies. 😂😂

Asked ChatGPT to create the Rugby World Cup draw using World Rankings as seedings. Leads to Quater-Finals of: 🇿🇦 South Africa vs Fiji/Scotland 🇮🇪 Ireland vs France/Japan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England vs Argentina/Wales 🇳🇿 New Zealand vs Australia/Italy

The Interference that cost the All Blacks the World Cup. Eben Etzebeth, retreating from an offside position inside his own 22, obstructs an All Blacks’ pass with a 5-on-2 overlap with no defending fullback. Deliberately ran through the passing lane to kill the play. He was penalised. That was all. He saves two-to-four points for the Springboks in a game that finished 12-11. The punishment does not fit the crime: Offside interference like this doesn’t warrant a yellow card, but a one-handed intercept attempt from an onside position does. This is cynical cheating of the highest order. Etzebeth should have been binned right then and there. The All Blacks were robbed of a try scoring opportunity they finish 80% of the time. This play and the knock-down by Etzebeth from the France quarter-final were disguised thievery.

I’m glad the “rugby values” police are out 🚨 Irish fans, understand that you are: No better. No worse. But culpable nevertheless. Your national captain did it when not even involved in a match. Your commentators do it. Your fans do it. You can stop pretending to be the “guardians of rugby”.

What many people don’t understand about this moment is Manu Tuilagi actually received a prostate exam from Chris Ashton in the previous ruck. There was no footage of the incident, but Manu told me. Chris Ashton should have been banned for 9 matches and Manu free to play. #URC
