America already made daylight saving time permanent once. In December 1973, 79% of Americans supported it and Nixon signed it into law. By February 1974, eight weeks into the experiment, support had collapsed to 42%. The policy never changed. Winter arrived. Sunrise in Washington DC came at 8:27am. Kids left for school in total darkness, carrying flashlights and wearing reflective tape. When Congress moved to repeal, members cited the deaths of eight Florida schoolchildren in the first weeks of the change. The energy case collapsed too. The whole point was the oil embargo, and the Department of Transportation concluded the fuel savings were too small to matter. Ten months after signing it, Congress repealed it and Ford put the country back on standard time. There's a mechanism that makes this cycle repeat: permanent DST is only ever voted on when the sun is up. Polls run in the abstract, votes happen in warm months, and the benefit, a free hour of evening light, is easy to imagine year-round. The cost is concentrated in about 10 weeks of dark winter mornings and only becomes real after implementation. So the policy polls beautifully right up until January. Today's vote happened in July. The 1974 law passed in December, right before the exact winter that killed it. If this clears the Senate, the first real test arrives in January 2027, when sunrise in Indianapolis comes after 9am. Sleep researchers have watched this loop for 50 years, which is why the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the AMA, and the National Sleep Foundation all back the opposite reform, permanent standard time. Congress just picked the one version of clock reform America has already tried, hated, and repealed.

A reminder on the evolution of 2020 "stolen election" theories: First we had mail-in fraud + Dominion + "illegal law changes" (Nov–Dec 2020) then → Georgia election workers + foreign interference/Italygate (Dec 2020–Jan 2021, concurrent) then → 2,000 Mules (ballot stuffers) (2022) then → social-media-censorship revival via Twitter Files (Dec 2022) then → renewed foreign-interference claims (2024–present). Through all this, we've had: 1. Dominion getting $787 million from Fox News for defamation 2. Rudy Giuliani admitting he lied about Georgia election workers (and the jury awarding the workers $148 million) 3. Sidney Powell admitting in court "no reasonable person would conclude" her claims of election fraud “were truly statements of fact" 4. The Gateway Pundit retracting claims of election fraud in Atlanta 5. The Media company that put out D'Souza's 2,000 Mules film apologizing and removing it after law enforcement proved it falsely accused people of fraud 6. Newsmax and One America News Network (OANN) settling with Smartmatic It is NOT true that none of these allegations have seen a court room. Most have. Of the 64 cases of fraud that Trump and his legal team filed in court, 30 were dismissed that included a hearing on the merits, 14 were voluntarily dismissed by Trump and his allies before a hearing, and just 20 were dismissed for lack of standing before a hearing on the merits. One case, involving far too few votes to impact the election, prevailed in Pennsylvania. That case was about voter ID deadlines, not election fraud. Those are the facts. Whatever happens Thursday night, please try to remember them.

Keep in mind that Trump‘s persistent delusion and propaganda that 2020 was stolen is essential pretext to his attempting to interfere in the midterms and 2028. He’s been laying that ground since the day he was reelected. Wake up.

So in a completely expected and predictable move as part of his ongoing effort to try to steal the midterms, Trump is addressing the nation Thursday to propagate new lies about the 2020 election. This will include "newly declassified" intelligence reports related to foreign interference in the 2020 election. And by "declassified," that means carefully orchestrated, White House coordinated, and falsified "evidence" that Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel have been working on for months, and that new "acting" Director and Trump bootlicker Bill Pulte was installed to solidify. This is to sow doubt and stir chaos with the base, and force Congressional Republicans to intervene with legislation. Exactly as expected. And now you're caught up. 🥱

Trump wants everyone to believe he's fearless, but he was clearly unsure about the safety and defense of his Qatari grift gift. While he decided to bomb Iran again, he had to call back the 35-year-old AF1 to fly him out of Turkey. #DemsUnited

JD Vance: “The November midterms give us a choice: keep fighting fraud with Republicans or send criminal fraudsters a life boat from the Democrats.” Just a quick reminder, this administration has pardoned more fraudster than every other administration combined. Here is an incomplete list of fraudsters pardoned by Trump/Vance. It’s incomplete because the list is so long it exceeds the X post character limits. • Dinesh D’Souza: Convicted of campaign contribution fraud via illegal straw donations. • Conrad Moffat Black: Convicted of mail fraud and obstruction related to business dealings. • Michael Robert Milken: Convicted of conspiracy, securities fraud, mail fraud, and tax fraud in the 1980s junk bond/insider trading scandal. • Philip Esformes: Convicted in one of the largest Medicare/Medicaid fraud schemes (over $1 billion in fraudulent claims via nursing homes and kickbacks). • Salomon Melgen: Convicted of health care fraud involving tens of millions in fraudulent Medicare billing as an eye doctor. • Faustino Bernadett (and similar health care figures like those in large-scale schemes): Convicted in health care fraud with sham contracts and kickbacks exceeding $900 million in fraudulent bills. • Michael Ashley: Convicted of bank fraud tied to a mortgage company collapse. • John Duncan Fordham: Convicted of health care fraud as a pharmacist. • Steve Stockman: Convicted of mail and wire fraud, campaign finance violations, and money laundering (misusing charitable donations). • Chris Collins: Convicted of securities fraud and insider trading (providing material nonpublic information). • Sholom Rubashkin: Convicted of bank fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, and money laundering in a large-scale meatpacking financial scheme. • Judith Negron: Convicted of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, health care fraud, kickbacks, money laundering, and structuring (part of a major scheme). • Fred Davis Clark Jr.: Convicted of bank fraud and false statements in connection with federally insured loans. • Albert J. Pirro Jr.: Convicted of conspiracy, tax evasion, and multiple counts of fraud. • Additional health care executives/doctors (at least 10 total in first term): Convicted in large-scale Medicare fraud schemes involving false billing and kickbacks. • Trevor Milton: Convicted of securities fraud and wire fraud (false statements to investors about Nikola Corp. technology). • Devon Archer: Convicted of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and securities fraud (defrauding a Native American tribe in a bond scheme). • Brian Kelsey: Convicted of conspiring to defraud the United States and aiding excessive campaign contributions. • Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley: Convicted of bank fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to defraud banks (over $30 million in fraudulent loans). • George Santos: Convicted of wire fraud, identity theft, aggravated identity theft, and embezzlement/fraud from campaign donors and unemployment benefits. • Michael Grimm: Convicted of tax fraud (underreporting income and filing false tax returns). • Jacob Deutsch: Convicted of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud (mortgage fraud scheme). • Adriana Isabel Camberos (aka Adriana Shayota): Convicted of mail and wire fraud in a counterfeit 5-Hour Energy scheme (millions in restitution; previously had a related sentence commuted in first term). • Andres Enrique Camberos: Convicted alongside his sister in the mail and wire fraud counterfeit product scheme. • Terren Peizer: Convicted of insider trading and securities fraud (health care company scheme). • Wanda Vázquez Garced: Convicted of campaign finance violations tied to bribery and wire fraud scheme. • Julio Herrera Velutini: Convicted of wire fraud and related bribery/conspiracy. • Mark Rossini: Convicted of wire fraud in the same bribery scheme. • Michele Fiore: Convicted of wire fraud and charity fraud (misusing funds for slain officers). • Glen Casada

Trump is literally walking all over your tax dollars.    For decades, every president since Truman has used the walkway between the White House residence and the Oval Office without issue. Trump decided it wasn’t good enough for him.     He said he would pay to retile it himself. Suprise, surprise, it was another shameless lie.     Internal budget documents show you, the American taxpayers, paid $689,232 for it.     And where is he getting the money? From our national parks.     Our parks are already short $23 billion in repairs, and more than 900 projects have lost their funding. Yellowstone lost a project to stop roof leaks. Acadia lost its free shuttle. A Colorado park lost the money to fix a guardrail.     But Trump found money to pave the ground he personally walks on with special granite.    Trump is forcing America’s national parks to slash budgets, cancel badly needed repairs, and lay off workers. He takes the money those parks actually earn – nearly $100 million in visitor fees –  and has been funneling it into his own personal projects, including paving the very ground he walks on with special granite.    And it’s not just park fees. Your tax dollars are in that pot too. Taxpayer funding for projects in our nation’s capital surged by 92% over the last year.    Trump seems to think your tax money is his money. He thinks he is entitled to raid national parks, cancel repairs, lay off workers, and use public funds to redecorate the place where he lives and works.     The level of greed is just disgusting.  the-independent.com/news/world/ame…

Last week, the Trump administration spent $1.5 billion of your taxpayer money to buy two immigration detention centers in California from a private prison company called CoreCivic. The deal closed on July 2. The government now owns the Otay Mesa facility in San Diego County and the California City facility in Kern County. CoreCivic still runs both places under its existing ICE contracts. This sale demands many questions about what it means for immigration enforcement in Southern California, and I’ll be asking them. As part of the deal, CoreCivic walks away with an estimated $1.1 billion in profit. Here’s the corrupt part. President Trump’s own 2025 financial disclosure lists CoreCivic among the stocks he holds. His administration decides how many billions of dollars flow to CoreCivic. When CoreCivic’s stock rises on a government decision, the president personally benefits. A president should never be able to enrich himself through a choice his own government makes. That is the entire reason conflict of interest rules exist in the first place. Every modern president before this one either sold off their holdings or used a real blind trust to put a wall between the Oval Office and their portfolio. Trump did neither, and holds stakes in dozens of companies that carry federal contracts, from defense firms to detention operators, and his administration keeps directing public money toward them. Republicans in Congress need to wake up and open a full and public investigation. Not into one company, but into the entire web. Who across this administration holds a financial stake in the contractors their own agencies pay? Who profited, and by how much, from decisions they had the power to shape? The American people funded these deals. They have every right to know who else was cashing in. calmatters.org/justice/2026/0…

FOLLOW THE MONEY, folks! And there's a LOT of it! Don Jr. owns 311,433 shares of GrabAGun Digital Holdings ($PEW). Got 300,000 just for being a "consultant" in December 2024, one month after the election. GREAT timing, some would say PERFECT timing! Board seat too. BEAUTIFUL board seat, the best! Who took it public? Colombier II, a SPAC run by Omeed Malik, Don Jr.'s partner at 1789 Capital AND his co-owner at Executive Branch, the D.C. club with the $500,000 entrance fee. Very exclusive! You can't get in, believe me! And who showed up at that club's launch party? Paul Atkins, the brand new SEC Chair, 5 days on the job! Two months later the SEC approves the $PEW listing. Total coincidence, many people are saying! But wait, there's MORE! GrabAGun's financing runs through Credova, owned by PublicSquare, where Don Jr. is ALSO a board member and investor. He gets paid coming AND going. Smart! Malik even bragged Don Jr.'s "cult of personality" would make the stock trade above the fundamentals. They put it in the SEC filing! IN WRITING! Now Daddy's ATF proposes the BIGGEST gun rule change in 20 YEARS, firearms shipped to your door like a pizza. 3.3 MILLION buyers a year, says the ATF. One of 34 — THIRTY FOUR — deregulations from Trump's own executive order. The Post Office wants to mail handguns too. Beautiful synergy! Who wins? The family business. The stock's down 85% but don't worry, the regulators are FAMILY FRIENDS! They didn't drain the Swamp. They gave it a TICKER SYMBOL!

Congress spent a long time investigating a $200,000 check for a loan repayment to Joe Biden at a time when he wasn't serving in government. The media covered it endlessly. Trump makes billions while in the White House through shady grifts, and sets his sons up with government contracts. America hardly talks about it.

The House Natural Resources Committee Democrats allege Freedom 250’s fundraising practices may amount to wire fraud and charitable solicitation fraud. The mechanism, per the report: donors who thought they were giving to the official, bipartisan 250th commission were instead routed to a Trump-aligned nonprofit. Here’s the alleged switch: sources told committee Democrats that donors intending to give to the America250 Commission — the group Congress created a decade ago, overseen by a bipartisan panel — were instead handed wire instructions with Freedom 250’s own banking info: its routing number and account number.
