Got a few things wrong there mate - I’m actually the Chair of Livestock SA (first woman ever), no longer on the board of AWiA or Cattle Council but did deliver a completely restructured organisation in my time there. I’ve achieved those things despite living over 1200km from a capital city which is amazing. I’ve also got 3 beautiful kids - which I taught myself through distance ed, used to be a volunteer ambulance officer and have managed to complete a uni degree in my spare time. I’ve helped establish 2 not for profits - 1 for remote health care & 1 for the empowerment of rural women. And I chaired a NFP that provided childcare & preschool education to families in remote SA for 10 years. I’ve started a podcast to help bridge the rural/urban divide & help women in ag have the hard conversations. I also sit on committees for the NFF & Cattle Australia. I’m fucking awesome.

@stationmum101 Best of luck for the Livestock SA election. Hope it’s not as gruelling as the AWI Director election which I’m battling at the moment. It’s made even harder when you have non-levy paying parties actively lobbying against you so that they can gain some control over the board.

The Livestock SA nomination & election process has begun so the way I share their content will be slightly different during this period.

Nowaay.. our micro-wool clip has paid enough levy to apply as an AWI shareholder. How are only 46% of eligible payers actually registered shareholders... Is there a pitfall to registering?

I was over in Orange during the week for training, I can now act as an industry livestock liaison officer if there is a serious disease outbreak. It is one of those roles that I hope I never have to do, we are very lucky in Australia, though we need to keep vigilant. #Biosecurity

@farmboyG @BenDooley8 @PhilWhitp4 @Agrista_au @DavidSandow1 Is there a program available where you can enter flock structure, number of twins/singles/dry scanned, body weights etc that can be used to easily calculate the dse of your whole enterprise? This is quite a task when done manually.

@GusWhyte @steve_noa @woolinnovation This report isn’t telling growers to cut cost of production, it’s looking at the factors influencing wool price & proves marketing spend has little impact. What we’re now suggesting is that the 60:40 marketing to R&D spend be reevaluated to have more R&D to help growers

Just voted in #WoolPoll24 not trying to sound too negative, without a significant change in the market and increased profitability, this may well be the last wool poll. The wool industry might not be large enough for its own RDC?

Last week I updated my training for the Consultative Committee for Emergency Animal Diseases (CCEAD) where I am a veterinary representative for the wool industry through @WoolProducers. In an EAD response it is important that affected industries are represented at all levels.
