Why has it become the norm for companies seem to think it's okay to ghost people. Like, the other person's time isn't worth anything. It just shows a lack of professionalism.

AI vendors are betting their revenue growth on token consumption. There’s one problem with that bet: if there’s a single constant in corporate life, it’s an almost zealous commitment to cutting recurring cost. Token-based pricing was a unilateral move by the providers. Enterprises didn’t ask for it — they inherited it, and now token consumption sits on the books as an ongoing OpEx line. Anything that looks like OpEx eventually attracts someone whose job is to shrink it. So the question every enterprise will end up asking isn’t “which model is best.” It’s: what’s the cheapest way to complete this task? Three options on the table: •Human (labour cost) •Frontier model (token cost) •Open-source model, self-hosted (infrastructure cost) My prediction: most enterprises route. The strongest open-source model handles the bulk of requests at a fixed infra cost, and only the highest-order tasks get sent to the expensive frontier models. The vendors are pricing for volume. The buyers are going to engineer the volume away.

Anthropic disabled Fable model in Canada as well 😡

You can't readily falsify someone's internal state. Because they can fall back to plausible deniability. This is why elicitation is so valuable in uncovering the truth.

Now that Anthropic has released its mythic-class model, Fable 5, into the wild, I wonder how long it will take nation-state adversaries to jailbreak it and use it for cyberattacks. Somehow, I don’t have much faith that their model routing will be enough to stop it.

Governments push for more secrecy and less transparency in their actions, but more scrutiny, surveillance, and controls in the lives of their citizens under the guise of security.

I recoil at this new cadre of debate bros. It's a rhetorical pro wrestling match. In the end they offer no pragmatic solutions. Just a series thought experiments that would collapse under the weight of real life consequences.

@theinformation I am highly skeptical that these model will matchup with frontier models. I predict this will not end well.
