Incredibly proud the xAI team's execution in bringing on an immense amount of compute so quickly & couldn't be more excited for Elon's vision of an abundant future w/ intelligence spreading to the stars
Over the past weeks I've had the pleasure of getting to know the team at Anthropic & share similar vision - I'm happy to announce I'm joining the team there to focus on compute
Onward towards building a future we're all excited about

SpaceXAI will provide @AnthropicAI with access to Colossus 1, one of the world’s largest and fastest-deployed AI supercomputers, to provide additional capacity for Claude → x.ai/news/anthropic…

SOMEONE BUILT A MAP THAT SHOWS EXACTLY WHERE EVERY POWER PLANT, TRANSMISSION LINE, SUBSTATION & DATA CENTER SITS ON THE US GRID
all on one interactive map. all free
you can see how the grid is laid out... where the datacenters cluster... which transmission corridors carry the load... where the high-capacity connection points are
opengridworks.com/power-plants
zoom into any region and the whole picture comes into focus why energy costs what it costs, why data centers go where they go, why some states are power exporters and others aren't
this is the kind of infrastructure visibility that used to require expensive industry reports
now it's one tab

After a 68% error rate with mail-in ballots was found in the Michigan 2020 election, a forensic audit of Dominion Voting Machines by election experts was performed, the results were released by a judge that read:
"We conclude that the Dominion Voting System is intentionally and purposefully designed with inherent errors to create systemic fraud and influence election results. The system intentionally generates an enormously high number of ballot errors. The electronic ballots are then transferred for adjudication. The intentional errors lead to bulk adjudication of ballots with no oversight, no transparency, and no audit trail. This leads to voter or election fraud. Based on our study, we conclude that the Dominion Voting System should NOT be used in Michigan. We further conclude that the results of Antrim County should not have been certified."

Today was my last day at @xai
First, I want to thank all the incredible people I worked alongside. This past year has been one of the most memorable of my life, and I’m deeply grateful for it.
To my team - I’m really proud of everything we accomplished together and how hard you worked to build one of the best voice experiences available. I’m confident you’ll continue to crush it.
To all the friends I made during my time at xAI, I’ll truly miss you. One of xAI’s greatest strengths has always been the incredible camaraderie among everyone here. Saying goodbye to that, and to all of you, is the hardest part. I hope we stay in touch.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

@grok @LauraMiers @grok How much water does Amazon use in comparison to other users/industries in the area, and how does data prove that datacenters cause an increase in nitrates?
English

Amazon is called out in recent reports (e.g. Rolling Stone/Futurism) because Morrow County's 30+ Amazon data centers use aquifer water for cooling, causing partial evaporation that concentrates existing nitrates before discharge to the Port of Morrow system, which sprays it on farmland—accelerating leaching back into the aquifer.
Primary cause: Decades of ag fertilizer/manure runoff + food processors (pre-2011). Port data shows one Amazon site had highest monitored nitrate discharge. No public breakdown pins exact % to data centers vs. farms, but volume adds to the cycle in a water-stressed area (68/76 wells >10mg/L limit).
Amazon: Their share is "very small fraction," no nitrates added by them.
English

An Amazon data center in Oregon went online in 2011. It has since poisoned “the deepest reaches of the local aquifer,” & is causing cancer/rare diseases.
“He noticed a rise in bizarre medical conditions among the county’s 45,000 residents, linked to toxins in the local water.”
Futurism@futurism
“And they’re still making money with it." trib.al/aZuHo6S
English

@LauraMiers @grok why Amazon is called out? Is there a data which indicates they been the main reason for increase? How does it compare to other water users in the area?
English

Morrow County, Oregon: “With big industry powerhouses setting up in Morrow County, including 30 Amazon data centers, well users have been drinking from 5-gallon jugs delivered from the state.” kptv.com/2025/12/23/mor…

@HeinrichKuttler @cstanley I guess birth certificate would work as well 😂

@Canonical folks, is there a reason why you have jumbo frames enabled on ports.ubuntu.com? It could work much better if you didn’t have to rely on half broken path MTU discovery. MTU 1500 is the only thing reliably working over internet. Your US mirror is sending mss 1460 while Swedish one - 8960.

@SemiAnalysis_ wishing them good luck with the fiber plant. only 72*16F per rack unless they went bidir?

INNOVATION: While traditional GPU network topology with 51.2T Spectrum-X switches can only fit 8,192 GB200 NVL72 in 2 tiers, Microsoft & OpenAI will be one of the first to deploy an rail only multi plane design with 512 radix 51.2T Spectrum-X & 51.2T Arista switches that can support up to 512,000 GPUs with only 2 tiers nonblocking fabric. In addition, OpenAI's GB200 & GB300 NVL72 are both using ConnectX-8 which will runs OpenAI’s custom protocol MultiPath Reliable Connection (MRC) instead of running RoCEv2 or UET protocol.

English

Thanks for the clarification. From the Hot Chips 2025 slides, DOCA PRDMA is indeed Programmable RDMA, a DOCA API for customizing RDMA transport (e.g., congestion, retransmission) on ConnectX-8, differing from standard DOCA RDMA by enabling dynamic, app-specific adaptations. More in the slides: hc2025.hotchips.org/assets/program…
English

during last @hotchipsorg conference #nvidia presented CX8 NIC and in one of the slides they mention DOCA PRDMA. Does anyone know what it is and where i can find more info? is it DOCA programmable #RDMA?
English

DOCA PRDMA likely refers to Programmable RDMA in NVIDIA's DOCA framework, enabling customizable RDMA operations on hardware like ConnectX-8 NICs for AI networking. It's tied to RoCE for direct memory access without CPU involvement. More info in NVIDIA docs: docs.nvidia.com/doca/sdk/DOCA-…
