@d_ecstacy @kingochepr I wasn't a fan of her character in House after watching Vikings (and she was decent in Bones as well). I like her pulled together and ready to kick ass.

@RealEmirHan This movie also reminds me of The Santa Clause.... custody of kids being held over the dad's head even though the dad clearly loves his kids. It irritates me when I watch these movies as an adult.

In Mrs. Doubtfire, Sally Field’s character was just so insufferable that it was insane. The worst ex wife ever. She divorced Robin Williams character simply because he cared about his kids more than she did. He tried to make them happy in every way he could. Never cheated on her.

Name the worst movie character of all time.

@chefsevenn My parents drove my brother and me through a drive thru for food we'd eat. Then they'd drive to the restaurant they were eating at. We'd eat in the car and then come in when we were done eating. Less arguing and everyone gets something they enjoy eating.

the other night husband and i were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears. anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. people said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. now, i happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. so every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange. so now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? bear. every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear. bears. they’re everywhere. be wary. anyone or anything could be a bear.

@okay1yukinko What clinic is this where the staff actually wait after closing for no-shows? Generally patient would just be charged a no-show fee and staff moves on to the next person.

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 degrees Celsius. The Russians used a pencil.

@Jonag9r3 @NoFilterSkin Cramps, bleeding, swelling, migraines - none of these are caused by the patriarchy. It's simply what nature has done. What you consider beautiful, others consider a hindrance/painful experience/"curse of Eve".

@NoFilterSkin I don’t see it as punishment at all. Being a woman is a beautiful experience. What you mean is backlash from society for functioning normally. What you mean is the patriarchy creating unfair conditions for women going through this.

dr. seuss is now in the strange position of being, probably, the most popular children’s book author ever - and, at the same time, all of his best work is no longer being printed due to “harmful imagery” (as of 2021). these are genuinely his best four books:

I’m at a motel tonight near the South Carolina coast, but 10 miles inland. There’s nothing particularly special about this motel, but we noticed the parking lot is COMPLETELY full (in March). I mean, like every room is occupied. When we parked there were Hispanics all along the walkways sitting outside different rooms around the motel. This isn’t a Hispanic area at all. When I turned on YouTube in the room it showed the past logins, and out of the 15-20 I saw, all but maybe 2 were Hispanic names. Is it possible that the government—unbeknownst to Trump—is still shuttling these illegals in & putting them up at motels? I honestly don’t see how it could be any other scenario.

They’re not going to get him for homicide, but they’re going to make him spend a small fortune before it’s over. There’s absolutely no way anyone could have known that would happen. It was just a freak accident and they’re kids doing an activity that never reasonably results in death.

A Georgia teacher had his life ended by his own students when a silly teenage prank turned deadly. Now, several teens are facing charges. 40-year-old Jason Hughes lost his life on the evening of Friday, March 6th, outside of his Gainesville, Georgia home. This tragic event unfolded when a group of students from North Hall High School decided to play a prank on their well-liked math teacher, Jason Hughes. According to the Hall County Sheriff's Department, the teens were in the process of covering his yard with toilet paper when Hughes exited his home to confront them. When Jason Hughes suddenly appeared, the startled teens ran to two separate vehicles and began to flee the scene. This is when disaster struck. As Jason Hughes was walking towards the fleeing vehicles, he tripped and fell into the path of a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jayden Wallace and was run over. The teens immediately stopped and exited their vehicles to attempt to help their injured teacher until EMS arrived. Sadly, Jason Hughes passed away from his injuries at the hospital. Jayden Wallace is being charged with felony first degree vehicular homicide and reckless driving. He is also facing misdemeanor charges of littering and criminal trespassing. Four other North Hall High students are also facing misdemeanor charges of littering and criminal trespassing. Those students are Ariana Cruz, Ana Luque, Elijah Tate Owens, and Aiden Hucks. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Jason Hughes as well as the students involved and the North Hall High community as a whole.

@BadCustSvc101 @AndriaDont99498 You decide what your own signature is, it doesn't have to be a full written name. Mine since I was 15 has been a decorative glyph made from my initials. Completely illegible but it matches my license so it works.

@AndriaDont99498 OK, I'm gobsmacked now. Because it didn't occur to me until today to wonder how, if kids don't learn cursive in school, they ever develop a signature. And now I wonder, when you need to physically sign something, not electronically with Docusign, what do they do? Print?

I've started my post highschool education at 32 years old. Im the oldest person in the class. This is the first time I've experienced gen z in a classroom setting. The future is bleak. They have no initiative. Can't do thier own paperwork or sign documents. Can't sign their names in cursive. They hold up the class with questions that should be common sense or they could find the answers to themselves. And they lack basic social skills as if they've all been sheltered in Amish country up until this point.

@aliciaandrz It's particularly striking when a single outlier provider deviates sharply from the rest & documents emotional distress pejoratively rather than reflecting on the clinical disagreement. This is why patient advocacy, second opinions & checking one's own notes matter so much.

when I was pregnant, I went to a practice with rotating OBGYNs. when I was 38 weeks I saw a young, male doctor for the first time. unlike everyone before, he said I needed to be induced. I tried to push back & he told me I was putting my baby’s life at risk. I started to cry & he left. I worked it out with the other doctors in the practice, but one left me alone with my notes open on the computer a couple of weeks later. I checked & that doctor had described me as “hysterical.” sometimes I wonder how many women he went on to stereotype & terrorize.
