Year 4 have been making their own nightlights in DT this week. They designed and made their lights, added in a circuit and then evaluated them. 💡⭐️🌙🌌😴

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Staircase House. They dressed up and retold the events of the Great Fire of London. They also learnt about fire marks and how the houses were build in 1666.

Year 4 have been learning all about angles this week. Today, they designed their own angle muncher and had a go at using them to identify different types of angles. Don’t tell Miss Senior but they were allowed to draw on the tables too.🤫📐✍️🖊️

In year 5, we have finished our olympian sculptures. NB: We know the ancient olympians would probably have been naked, but to protect their modesty, we made basic outfits.

Year 4 have had the BEST day at The Sunnywood Project. Den building, shark infested waters, archery, whittling and campfires and smores!! Wow!!

Year 3 had a wonderful parent showcase this afternoon. They got to make a Roman mosaic, an Italian Caprese salad, quiz their grown-ups all about rocks and volcanoes and show off their incredible artwork! The children, parents and Miss Brookes had wonderful afternoon! 🌋🪨🥗🇮🇹🎨

This week we have made our own star spaced themed cookies in Reception. We followed a recipe, worked as a team to make them and finally enjoyed decorating them. Apparently they were delicious! 😋

Our fantastic Digital Leaders have been using their Microbits to create games today. Success, Ruairi and Isabella made a rock, paper, scissors game and played against each other. Super coding!

We have had a wonderful and creative afternoon in Year 3, beginning to explore motifs. We have explored images of ammonites and fossils, then began to sketch our own using tones and textures in our drawing. We will build on this tomorrow by printing our own motif 🎨✏️

In maths Year 1 have had lots of fun counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. They also explored odd and even numbers and looked for patters in the numbers. Well done!

Year 4 had a messy science lesson today recreating the process of digestion. They put crackers, banana, orange juice and water in a bag to show the stomach and it’s contents and then put it through some tights (the intestines) and finished by recreating a trip to the loo. 🚽 💩

Year 3 have enjoyed their practical maths lesson today exploring perimeter. They used numicon to build their own 2D shapes. The children then worked with their Kagan partners to use their addition skills and challenged their partner, to solve the perimeter of each shape. 🔶🔴🔻🔷

Year 3 have completed their amazing artwork, linked to our current topic. The children explored fossils and ammonites and had a go at sketching their own onto polystyrene. They then used the technique of block printing to print their design. How incredible do they look?🎨✏️🦴
