tried @pumpcade yesterday during the france paraguay game. it was day 1 of their world cup beta. they load your account with fake money and there’s $75k in real prizes over the tournament. it’s a prediction market with a twist: instant resolution on short timed predictions. the markets run on three clocks. examples from the game yesterday: will paraguay beat france? will there be a goal in the next 10 minutes? will there be a shot or goal in the next 60 seconds? you bet, it resolves instantly, you reload. payouts are pari mutuel, which was new to me. everyone’s money goes into one pool and winners split it by stake. if there are 2 bettors in a pool and you put $1 against $99 on the other side and win, you walk with the whole $100. horse racing has run on this system for 150 years. first time i’ve seen it in a prediction market. quite interesting vs the usual bet $1 to win $0.90 for most sports bets. this was day one beta so there were some bugs. i was also on a boat playing on mobile web because the app isn’t out yet. so less than ideal conditions and it still kept me interested. there’s a gamecast style field view and play by play, so i followed a game i couldn’t watch on tv. met the founder @PopPunkOnChain and coo @kosgoood on a call last week and liked both of them as well as the vision. i’m not getting paid and i don’t hold the token. i just like it when teams try something new and swing big. the real test is whether a sports fan with zero crypto experience can pick this up and just play. we’ll see
