They view these strong, confident and compelling characters not as someone to guide them to building themselves up, that to reach even a fraction of them is considered a personal success... Instead they view these characters as direct threats to their ego and witnessing these aspirational characters places them in such a state of despair or vitriol that they would rather the character disappear from their sight to spare them from the self-inflection, Even if it means depriving others of experiencing it. This is honestly...pathetic.
