🇷🇸 Serbia continues to bring its art back home 🇬🇧 As part of a consistent and systematic cultural policy, Serbia has acquired the “Guard at Rest” by Paja Jovanović, who was one of the most prominent Serbian painters. The artwork was purchased for £170,000 at a Sotheby’s auction in London through Ministry of Culture and @SRBinUK 🖼️ It will be preserved in the Historical Museum of Serbia, further contributing to the preservation of national cultural heritage. In recent period, Serbia has also brought back valuable cultural items, including the letters of Mileva Marić Einstein and Albert Einstein, medieval Serbian manuscripts (Oktoechos, Life of Barlaam and Joasaph), a portrait by Uroš Predić, artifacts from the Obrenović dynasty.

The bridge is located in the ancient city of Vushtrri, in the heart of the Republic of Kosova🇽🇰 To say that this monument is in Serbia is like saying the Eiffel Tower is in Berlin. You may wish for it, but the map exposes you! Although the post speaks of the "Vojinovici" of the 14th century, the style of the bridge we see today the arches and the stone-working technique is typical of the Ottoman period 15th-16th centuries. It was built upon the foundations of the antiquity of the city of Viciana, today's Vushtrri which was an important Dardanian center long before you, the migrants🇷🇸 from the Carpathians, arrived in the Balkans. After the attempt to declare the highlanders of Shkodra as Serbs, now they are trying to take with them even the bridges of Kosova. It is sad to see how their historiography is based on the appropriation of Albanian heritage.
