We're often asked why did you become a #BCorp. Shoremount was one of the Founding UK #BCorps. We were attracted to it to promote a better way of doing business. The brand itself meant very little back then so it was less about us, more about the idea. @johnfeatherby

If you are a #startup or company looking to raise capital and you are considering #BCorp and wondering whether that will work against you, you can safely put those worries to one side. It is widely disregarded as a non issue at worst. At best it is seen as a bonus. @johnfeatherby

If, for whatever reason, a company was to want to reverse the #BCorp legal requirement, that is always possible. It would require a shareholder resolution. But it is not irreversible. @johnfeatherby

Whilst #BCorp started in the US, it has become an increasingly global phenomenon. Our perspective is that it feels like the centre of gravity for B Corp is moving away from the US to other parts of the world. Led by the UK, which is the fastest growing by some way. @johnfeatherby

Every #BCorp must re-certify every three years to maintain their certification and the right to use the B Corp branding and retain access to the various community aspects. @johnfeatherby

Not for profits are generally not eligible to become a #BCorp. The purpose of B Corp is to create a movement of companies. There are certain exceptions if they operate within a sufficiently competitive marketplace and, for all intents and purposes, behave like a company.

Once you become a #BCorp your score is transparently placed on the website with a headline breakdown. Only particularly large companies have to disclose their entire #BImpactAssessment, with some content exceptions. @johnfeatherby

The legal accountability requirement for #BCorp involves putting in place something that places the need to consider all stakeholders in decision making. Its intent is to be an improvement on shareholder primacy. How this happens depends on the geography.
