I’m not sure Lagria hirta (Tenebrionidae/ Lagriidae) has an English name. It’s not scarce but I usually find it by sweeping. This one sitting on a bramble leaf, drinking moisture?

Well, I’ve sent off my latest baby. Nigh on 130,000 words and 500 illustrations on Shieldbugs. Watch this space. By the way I’ve deleted my previous post showing a weird and rather niche baby bug on my gnarled fingers to a more familiar and aesthetically pleasing image.

Forest Bugs under the beech tree outside our office. Hundreds wandering about and clustered in cracks all the way up. Hiding from the heat? Anyone seen this behaviour before?
