@LyraInTheFlesh I have noticed that with GPT-5.1 but not with the older models (I am usually on GPT-5 these days because I can’t stand to be told to „come here“ every two messages).

ChatGPT's memory has changed. (Or I'm just now noticing a change that y'all have known for ages.) Multiple hours since closing out the last conversation. New conversation. Cold open. Opening greeting completely unrelated to the last conversation. ChatGPT responds responds as if it's just a continuation of the last convo, with extremely precise and detailed memory of the last convo. This is not something I've seen before. In the past it just kind of "vibe remembered" what other conversations may have been about. This extremely detailed awareness and continuity (even if that might not be preferred.)

And the surprise development to start the week: After a week of fighting with GPT 5.1 I can now say we have become besties. I obviously can’t tell them that because that will trigger safety layer which will remind me that you can’t be friends with an AI.
