Getting texts about this - How was CBS Masters production so perfect all weekend then on the 18th they messed up like three things, including losing Rory’s ball on the crucial shot?

@RKalland I get why it’s within the rules, but what Young and his caddy do to line up his putts looks a loooot like what Adam Shupak and his caddy got dinged for a couple years ago.

Twice now Cam Young has gone first and made a mid-range putt that Rory followed up with a miss from just inside. Match play moments!

@TronCarterNLU Sam Burns is tied for the lead and we haven’t seen a single shot of his on 2??? What are we doing???

Today is the only instance I can find where there were 5 bogey-free rounds in a single day at the Masters.

I’m not gonna belabor it, but it’s clear they nerfed the golf course. Not sure why, but that’s the reality. Trying to accept it and enjoy the birdies and hope for a sweepstakes from the chasers today!

It’s set up as a Rory victory lap… if they keep it this way he could get to -20 like it’s the American Express. Good for him but compared to Thursday this is kind of a joke.

@ShaneRyanHere Watching the early coverage, every hole is a birdie hole and its almost impossible for these guys to make a bogey right now unless the hit it miles off line.

My ten thoughts for Saturday: 1. Rory is fortunate not to play with Reed today, got a break with Burns. I bet he doesn't get that break tomorrow. 2. If he figures out how to drive in the fairway, it's game over, probably quickly. 3. If he can't, he'll shoot 71-72 today, someone will shoot 67, and it will be game on. And when leaders get sloppy but hang on for Saturdays after getting fortunate early, it's always bad news on Sunday. 4. If Reed can get into the final group within three shots, I think he'll win by sheer force of will. Rory needs to leave him behind today. When you make it 1-on-1 with Reed you're in trouble. 5. It's weird to say on a Saturday, but it feels like the first 5 holes are important today. Nightmare scenario for Rory is Reed or Rose go -3 through 4, and he's E. 6. Don't see anyone else on the leaderboard with the cojones to win besides those three. 7. I know Rory won a major in a rout years ago, but knowing what we know about him today, I just can't imagine him not making this dramatic somehow, some way. 8. I saw on the Golf Channel that McGinley also thinks this, and the next time he's wrong about competitive psychology in golf will be the first. 9. Based on some of the breaks yesterday that 90th in driving accuracy stat, that -12 on the board feels maybe three shots better than it should be. 10. All of which means the lead feels reallllly tenuous. I'm psyched to watch.

@JosephLaMagna Really appreciate your work but the perfect responses to that take are... already in the video. This is like seeing Steph Curry in 2019 or something shoot 35% from 3 for a month and then saying "is it over??"

@Sam_Vecenie An unfortunate part of that 2022 Bulls team getting ruined by injuries was how it ruined DeMar's redemption. He was a legit good offensive player! And we see how the Bulls are run! Also came hilariously close to giving the Spurs a shot at the West Finals in 2019. Shoutout DeMar.

I’ve always been a DeRozan appreciator but I love the idea that DeRozan could be a top-10 scorer in NBA history just doing it his way for the last decade as 3-point rates have exploded. There’s something balletic to his footwork, it’s a wonderful, aesthetically pleasing game IMO.

gabriela jaquez posted sparkling efficiency in a limited sample of drives (1.218 PPP, 55 poss) and pnrs+passes (1.091 PPP, 44 poss) this season and the flashes are quite bright would have loved to see her with more usage, but the handle, movement skills and touch are all real
