@badlogicgames I added a tl;dr at the top to save everyone's time. My ideal outcome with AI is that I get to be the eccentric CEO/ "idea-guy" who throws a vision.md at AI and it produces prod-grade software. I wanna be out of the loop (play more Minecraft). And we are not there yet.

the current fear is is that AI homogenizes culture and turns humans into passive consumers
one counterpoint: in Go, human play showed very little improvement from 1950 to 2016 until alphago beat lee sedol - then human decision quality jumped. players started developing moves that were distinct both from previous human moves and from the novel moves introduced by machine intelligence
this seems more likely to me - fun times ahead

@lauriewired Anyway, reading shouldn’t be gamed. There is great value in reading slow and deep. Took a while to fix this
English

@lauriewired 3. Mental math went from subvocalizing “2+3” to visualising the characters 3+2 as if it’s written on a whiteboard. My arithmetic mistakes increased a lot too. Had to rely on calculators
4. I definitely became very good at abstract math. top 1% in class

This is your reminder that speed reading is REALLY BAD for you.
- Apps that flash words at you (RVSP) ruin comprehension
- Suppressing Subvocalization messes up memory organization (phonological coding)
- Peripheral vision "chunking" is biologically impossible

i never want to read any other way again.

Very very very important. Speed reading is a crime. Suppressing subvocalisation is gonna knock off a few iq points over years.
