This is a fairly insulting formulation but he is correct, generally:
God calls us to build the kingdom of God within ourselves. It isn't "sit around and do nothing by yourself" but "where two or three gather in my name there I am with them" and "be fruitful and multiply"

@grindafrathjis Yeah, though Jesus was from the original quote. Which makes sense because apparently Durant was an admirer of Christianity but didn't actually believe in God, so he thought of him as simply "good person"

@shwheals Counterintuitively it would have fit better with Christianity (if maybe not the egos of e-Christians) to say "Christians" specifically and not "Christ". Christianity is not dualist, "God wins" is a foundational belief but so is "Man fails".

@grindafrathjis I was curious about the Christian perspective on this. Definitely in Judaism there's an emphasis on human action in addition to following the commandments (though this level of historical materialism is beyond the pale - but then, he's not a religious guy)

i actually don’t understand why ppl care about airport pickups/drop offs in the age of uber. if the airport is like 10 min away i see how it’s nice, but driving an hour or more round trip is just a huge waste of time.
