This is a holding message to pre-empt being asked the question as to who I would prefer as the next manager. I want Coco the Clown. A respected name on a historical scale who will improve us both technically and tactically ahead of the current manager

JUST RELEASED: 14 million battery-electric cars sold globally in 2025 says @IEA China: 8.2m. Europe: 2.9m (28% of new cars). Norway: 97%. US flat at 1.2m. In 2015 the world sold 330,000 BEVs. Ten years later, 14 million. Long-read coming 👇 janrosenow.substack.com

@Ayrhead2 @janrosenow @IEA ICE down 4.5m (-9%) (but including hybrids, which would be an increasing proportion), BEVs up 12.7m (+450%) in 6yrs? And I suspect that forecast 18% increase this year will be vastly understated (+50% to 125% in some countries recently) What was your point again?

@janrosenow @IEA Take out the heavily polluting communist regime that is subsidising it's manufacturers to kill off worldwide competition. Then look at the results of unsustainable tax payer funded grants and market manipulation around the rest of the world for the last 10 years.....

@BusyFooFighting @gowdavy @mgshanks I was about to say the same(ish) Mine's down £815\yr = £68\month = 35.6% In July 24 the only fixes were 10% above the price cap In Feb 26, when I re-fixed, they were 14-15% below the price cap. Then dropped another £117 again in April for everyone. You can't help some people

@gowdavy @mgshanks Really? Mine has fallen. £90/mo for electricity because I charge an EV. Now £70/mo because they removed policy costs. That’s a saving of £240/year. Plus more renewables onto the grid & grid upgrades mean wholesale price of energy is lower than it would’ve been.

There was a debate on the future of Britain's energy in the House of Commons today. Not a single Green MP bothered to turn up. You would think the Greens would care about climate change and the energy transition. Apparently not.

@MDC12345678 @RidgeandFrost @Dan4Barnet @SophyRidgeSky Refineries were closed by the companies, not Gov't, because they were completely uncompetitive and due to over-capacity. No domestic oil or gas has been banned - they're just running out in the North Sea. No license for exploration now will bear fruit for 5yrs - if they find any

@RidgeandFrost @Dan4Barnet @SophyRidgeSky .@Dan4Barnet I think you need to go away and examine your conscience. Closing down refineries and banning domestic oil and gas enables Putin’s war machine. Innocent people will die in Ukraine because your government is putting ideology ahead of the national interest.

Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury @Dan4Barnet avoids @SophyRidgeSky's question on whether he is comfortable with the government watering down sanctions on Russia, allowing diesel and jet fuel from Russian crude oil to enter the UK ⬇️

@Damocles561 @RidgeandFrost @Dan4Barnet @SophyRidgeSky Of course taxes on profits <don't> impact prices. Profit is the amount left over <after> all costs are accounted for. The Int'l price has nothing to do with costs - no costs increased. There's just a massive windfall profit based on nothing oil companies do.

@RidgeandFrost @Dan4Barnet @SophyRidgeSky Labour is not being honest about why they are making this decision. Last November, Ed Miliband told the nation that the 78% tax the government extracts from energy companies had no effect whatsoever on consumer prices. When informed, Miliband appeared genuinely stupefied.

NEW Chancellor announces new restriction on use of judicial review for “critical infrastructure” clean energy projects - ie wind and nuclear - and time limitation for other projects, roads, rail and reservoirs - this is in addition to the streamlining of the process in the planning law. Will curb environmental challenges to big infrastructure plans.

NEW Inflation eases from 3.3% to 2.8% in year to April, with falls in domestic energy and other bills (water, VED) last month counteracted by a rise in petrol prices… Core inflation 2.5% vs 3.1%… services 3.2% vs 4.5% … Lowest services inflation since January 2022 - key indicator for Bank of England… Lowest core inflation since July 2021 Good set of figures before the inevitable upwards turn from full impact of Iran war, especially on domestic bills.
