Reviewing 100s of video editor portfolios last night made something very clear: The internet has an insane amount of talent. The real bottleneck is distribution and storytelling.

Interesting observation after reviewing dozens of video editor portfolios today: Technical skill isn’t the biggest differentiator. Storytelling and pacing are. So many talented folks in terms of mind boggling transitions and FX, but only a few with proper storytelling.

Didn’t expect this to blow up. Going through all the portfolios now. Some insanely talented editors in the replies.
