The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Lembaga Tabung Haji has identified serious governance failures, political interference, and questionable accounting practices that contributed to the pilgrimage fund’s financial difficulties between 2014 and 2020.
In its report, the six-member commission chaired by former chief justice Raus Sharif said weaknesses in the Tabung Haji Act 1995 gave excessive powers to the minister, particularly over appointments to the fund’s board and senior management.
The absence of clear qualification and expertise requirements allowed active politicians to become involved in the institution’s management, undermining its credibility and influencing decisions over hibah payments and financial assistance.

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) today clarified that although it holds the naming rights to the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC), the circuit is owned by Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd, a company under the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc).
The national oil company said the circuit is operated by an agency under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
“As Petronas is not the event organiser, it does not manage, control, or have access to ticket allocation, sales, or distribution.
“Ticket sales are managed solely by the event organiser and its authorised channels,” it said in a statement yesterday.
China on Tuesday delivered the world's first 10,000-vehicle-class car carrier equipped with a photovoltaic power generation system to a South Korean company.
The 230-meter-long LNG dual-fuel vessel can carry up to 10,800 vehicles and features a 200-kilowatt peak photovoltaic grid-connected power system capable of generating about 1,000 kWh of electricity per day under an estimated 5.5 to 7 hours of daily sunlight, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
Following its delivery, the vessel will operate on vehicle shipping routes serving Asia, North America and Europe.
@iMiaSanMia Argentina did not play FOOTBALL. It was more like RUGBY the amount of times they held on to England players downing them from the start making the whole game a farce.
Harry Kane: "We're gutted for the boys, gutted for everyone, the team, the staff, the fans. We played a good game for the large majority of it. When we went 1-0 up, we seemed to try and hold on, which at this level is not enough. We've worked so hard to be here. So to fall short is just gutting."
@iMiaSanMia A loss is a loss, and a win is a win. Morocco suffered more because they lost after leading by 2 goals, yet they didn't make a fuss like England
@BBCSport And a massive disappointment simply because the clown of a coach decided to go 5 at the back with 20 minutes to go🤷♂️
England only had 12% of the possession in those last 20 minutes, that’s abysmal & it gifted Argentina that final place🙄
A peak audience of 24 million tuned in as Argentina knocked England out of the World Cup.
It was the most-watched live television moment of the year across all broadcasters.

@trtworld How Israel, with the help of FIFA, stole Palestine's football team
Mondoweiss
Palestine had a national football team in the 1930s that was recognized by FIFA, played World Cup qualifiers,... The only problem? None of the players was actually Palestinian.

Despite Norway's World Cup run having come to an end, the nation is intensifying its campaign to suspend Israel from international football, with Norwegian Football Federation President Lise Klaveness pushing for sanctions through official UEFA channels.
Klaveness — a lawyer, former national player, and current UEFA executive committee member — argues that Israel’s continued participation in the global football tournament amid Tel Aviv’s ongoing genocidal onslaught on Palestine’s Gaza creates a double standard, citing the precedent set by the suspension of Russian teams following Moscow’s war on Ukraine.
“We believe Israel should be suspended, and this is about upholding the rules,” Klaveness said in 2025; she is now working to bring these demands to the forefront of the upcoming UEFA vote.
Norway, long a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, has already taken symbolic action; when hosting Israel for a qualifier in Oslo last year, the federation donated all ticket revenue to medical relief efforts in Gaza. Fans paired viking hats with kefiyyehs and Palestinian flags, booing during the broadcast of Israel’s national anthem.
Campaigners and human rights lawyers contend that Israel’s actions violate FIFA statutes regarding discrimination, human rights, and the operation of clubs in the occupied Palestinian territories
🚨🇨🇭 Murat Yakin, Switzerland coach: "Egypt coach and players saying referees helping Argentina? In general, matches are officiated fairly nowadays. With VAR, everything can be reviewed.
"There’s no need to settle everything with words after the match… when you have your chances, you have to win.
"The opportunity is during the game itself. After the match, explaining things or insulting people has nothing to do with justice.
"So you have to settle it on the pitch.” @DiarioOle
@cspan Very embarrassing FIFA was forced to bow to a person who is not very skilled with football. World superpowers are no longer suitable to be given the right to organize the FIFA World Cup.
Aryna Sabalenka says she wants to get completely drunk, forget about tennis, and try harder next time after her loss to Naomi Osaka
“Do you feel like you’re the world #1 player at the moment? If not, what do you feel like you need to do to get back to that status?”
Aryna: “Ah, this question guys. Let’s just look at the rankings. By now I am world #1. Level-wise today I wasn’t world #1. Yesterday I was world #1. I feel like I just, I don’t even want to think about ranking at this point. I just want to go get completely drunk, forget about tennis, and try to get in better shape.”

@FedPride@AJEnglish@Blackwolfeye2 Problem is ...Israel is an illegal state...they stole Arabs land with the help from US & Europe to create Israel...one day Israel will be wiped out by muslim country....it will happen.
@AJEnglish@Blackwolfeye2 One good way to avoid war with Israel is to sign a peace treaty with them. Funny, how Jordan, Egypt & UAE were not attacked by Israel. Also, don’t fire missiles & drones at Israeli civilians. They don’t like that.
Make peace & there will be peace.
