@4pfSunshine It's unfair to put the two together, socialism is just jealousy clothed as compassion. Nietzsche would however argue, that fundamentally they are the same. They attract the poor, the impotent and the feeble who are resentful towards the noble and the well off.

@NinaPanickssery If you're any smart or intelligent enough as you claim, atheist or not, you can't denounce the essence of religion (Christianity mostly) in shaping civilization to be the way it is, on a large societal level. Even Nietzsche, the most critical atheist perhaps, knew this.

The other thing is that it seems like some atheists are afraid to say what I’m saying plainly because so many powerful people are religious. Also scary.

@theerealtao The idea of God is the typical archetypal phenomena across all human societies all over. Nietzsche, an atheist and great thinker, said have that idea disappear and you'll not like a series of things that might replace it on a large, societal level.

One of the darkest details in Game of Thrones is that every Baratheon brother represents a different kind of failed king. Robert had charisma but no discipline. Stannis had discipline but no love. Renly had love but no legitimacy. And together they basically explain why House Baratheon collapsed so fast after Robert died. Robert won the throne but never truly ruled it. Stannis believed he deserved the crown but inspired fear more than loyalty. Renly inspired loyalty easily but built his claim almost entirely on popularity. What makes it tragic is that if you combined all three brothers into one person, you probably get the perfect king. Instead Westeros got three incomplete versions of one 💔

@Itz_zayyad1 Baratheon - everyone is dumb as far as thinking beyond now is concerned. Lannister - sharp and meticulous father, sharp dwarf son. The rest can't survive on their own. Stark - Honourable, well raised family. Admirable. Targaryen - Remove the dragons and you have peasants.

@ashiedu_victor While doing my undergraduate I read them and held a view of disgust towards Europe until I took to reading Nietzsche; If you're weak, foolish and impotent, the strong will exert their Will upon you to their advantage, and you'll hate them, become resentful and call them evil.

I studied political science as a minor in the university and this was one of the books that we read and referenced in one of the courses. Initially as young chaps this book infuriated us and we began to blame the west for our woes until we came across another book “How Africa Underdeveloped Africa”. Till date, I have no blames or fight with the Europeans. The time for blaming them is long gone. Now it is our evil leaders who are constantly looting and ravaging the continent. Sometimes I wonder if there’s really a problem with the black race because how can a whole continent have wicked leaders? Only the “white” part of the continent have major developments. Africans, it is your leaders that have ravaged you, not Europeans.
