@sightseerer @websterkaroon those are diaspora psychopaths that live in other countries, and of course there will be very few one off cases in Iran, you're never going to get 100% support for any government anywhere, and yes they are also retarded derange psychopaths, anyone that praises trump or netanyahu.

An Iranian street interview page posted two videos I found fairly representative of the divide in Iran (posted 4 days ago, so conducted during the war). The first isn't particularly supportive of the government, but also clearly rejects the war, Trump & Netenyahu.

@ed79421490 @websterkaroon Well if you're persian there are a lot of videos (especially from the beginning of the war) where the person behind the camera praises them. Videos like "keep hitting them, thank you bibi/trump"

If these talks fail, none of them will survive. They are only kept alive because Trump wants them to make a deal that he can approve of. If that fails, they are dead men walking.

@websterkaroon Yes I did, what's your point? Nobody is praising Bibi or Trump, they're expressing their concerns in a way that the regime would tolerate

@mehdiy_fa The regime will never change its stance towards israel or the west, because its DNA is made to oppose them. Regime change is the only answer

The majority of my Iranian audience is against any negotiations with the Iranian regime. I also don’t support JCPOA-style deals with the regime. Trading nuclear limits for limited sanctions relief tends to strengthen the regime while allowing it to maintain its anti-American and anti-Israel posture, continue building a secret arsenal, and increase the risk of future instability and harm to Iran and the region. I would still consider a genuine agreement that requires meaningful policy changes from the regime. This could include normalization of relations with the United States and an end to its ideological hostility toward Israel, potentially through acceptance of a two-state solution implying recognition of Israel. Such shifts could create conditions more conducive to democratic change in Iran. For decades, the regime’s opposition to the West and fixation on Israel have helped it maintain its support base. Removing those ideological pillars would leave the regime in a weaker position. If the Iranian regime is not prepared to take these steps, a ceasefire is preferable to a flawed deal. To enable a meaningful agreement, the United States and Israel may also need to show greater flexibility on technical issues regarding nuclear and missile limits while placing more emphasis on securing substantive ideological change from Iran. I also wish the US had included a few demands from the Iranian people, such as the release of political prisoners and lifting internet censorship. Even if rejected outright, it would have been a strong gesture toward the Iranian people.

BREAKING: According to CENTCOM sources, from the beginning of the war in Iran until its final day, a total of 24 MQ-9A Reaper armed drones of the U.S. Air Force were shot down by Iranian air defenses. They were worth more than $720 million. This marks one of the largest losses of armed drones in the history of the U.S. Armed Forces. If the war had continued, it could have led to the near extinction of Reaper drones in U.S. military service. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

As I wrote in my assessment two days ago, regime change had already dropped off the priority list of the war several weeks ago. Many of the Iranian dissidents were not willing to accept this reality and, over the past few weeks, tried to keep their hopes alive. The reality was not that the United States lacked the ability to overthrow the regime. The issue was that, given the level of cost Trump was willing to accept, regime change was not feasible. Trump is not interested in entering wars that require ground forces. The initial hope was that, with the disintegration of the regime’s leadership and the weakening of its repressive forces, an opportunity would emerge for a popular uprising, as well as for ethnic armed groups. But given the survival and presence of the regime security forces in the city streets as well as the new energy among the support base of the regime, such an opportunity did not materialize. I find it unlikely that Trump is looking to restart the war. Overall, this war was not a success for the United States. Trump is not happy with Netanyahu, who sold him on this war, and in the short term Netanyahu has limited ability to influence him. The Iranian regime, despite its victory rhetoric, is also not in a good position. The war has inflicted serious damage on the system, and significant economic crises lie ahead. If the regime fails to reach a meaningful agreement with the United States, we are likely to see serious unrest in the streets again in the not-so-distant future. Reaching an agreement between the regime, the US, and Israel will be difficult. There is a real possibility that this ceasefire turns into a prolonged one without leading to any actual agreement.
