@R5Crosby I agree he did well, was easy to follow. The defense, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to know the story as well and seems a bit uncertain. Maybe nerves?

watching the Gerhardt Konig case out of Hawaii. Thought the young prosecutor gave a very effective opening. Started with a narrative story about what happened that day and then looped back to talk about what evidence would be put on in support. #GerhardtKonigTrial

🔥🚨DEVELOPING: Afroman has been humiliating Ohio police during his trial, an Adams County Deputy testified that Afroman's lyrics claiming he slept with the deputy's wife have inflicted "tremendous pain" and that's the basis for his defamation claim. On the second day of the Afroman defamation trial, Sergeant Randolph L. Walters, Jr. took the stand and said the rapper's song about hooking up with his wife has caused him massive emotional distress. He also testified that being branded a "thief" in Afroman's content damaged his professional reputation. That said, every deputy who's testified so far has insisted they don't take random internet rumors or videos at face value and they've all been hit with plenty of unrelated insults and name-calling over the years anyway.

@LSUHeaux Not at all. I think she likely would’ve been convicted on circumstantial. It’s the time they barely spent that scares me. There were holes. Sloppy investigation. I don’t like her at all. My focus is on the fairness of the system. This deserved discussion.

🚨BREAKING🚨: Kouri Richins GUILTY on ALL Counts after less than THREE hours deliberating. I don’t like her at all, but this doesn’t seem like these jurors took enough time to weigh and consider all the evidence. This was a circumstantial case and deserved more. I hope I never find myself subject to the jury system. I have very little faith in it. I say this even on a case where I don’t like her! She probably would’ve been convicted anyway, but it deserved more than less than three hours. If the system doesn’t work for the worst, it will never work for the innocent.

@LawyerYouKnow I thought it was quick, but then so was a lot of other trials we watched. (Daybell, Charlie, ect). Not surprised with results at all.

Wow Richins verdict??? I think we know this is guilty - not surprising at all - but DEF quicker than I expected. That’s pretty shocking to me. What do you think?

Several family members are in the courtroom. Kouri is seated at the defense table with her attorney. Prosecutors are at the prosecution table. Eric's father has not yet arrived, so it will be a few minutes before the verdict is read. I am sitting next to @brian_schnee , who has been in the courtroom every day since the beginning. #Richins

Jurors are in. The female foreperson stands up. Judge asks if the jury has reached a unanimous verdict. "Yes we have." The form is handed to the bailiff, who hands it to the judge.

Lewis says Kouri made a profit on all the homes she flipped. All the foreclosures were after her arrest, Lewis says. She brings up the gifs. "They made such a fuss about these," Lewis says. They were accessed on March 4 and were tied to the celebration, Lewis says. The gifs were accessed at the same time as a photo of the Midway mansion on March 4. Lewis says a photo was sent the night before by Eric and it's likely all the gifs were sent the night before. Lewis says it doesn't make sense that Kouri killed him for life insurance.

@NateNewsNow If one has evidence of innocent why would they not present it during trial?!!!?! What a weird statement to say to the jury.

Lewis admits they said things in opening statements that didn't come into trial "but strategies change and we aren't under any obligation to present evidence. They are." Lewis asks what was kept in the bottle next to Eric's bed - an expired prescription bottle with nothing in it but residue. "Why would that be sitting out? A six-year-old prescription bottle? What might be the best way to bring illegal pills back from Mexico?"

@heyyolanda50 @NateNewsNow I thought they said that too about the alcohol and also i don’t recall evidence of earlier drug use but it was there because of what was absorbed by his body at the time.

@NateNewsNow I thought there actually was alcohol in his stomach contents along with the fentanyl.

@CresiCres That and all the other little nuggets like ‘he was in the same position he fell asleep in” to bryce on phone.

Best part about the state’s closing for me was pointing out that Kouri’s story started with the drink. #kouririchins
