Three years ago, when my daughter had become consumed by anxiety, her mobile phone was a lifeline for her at school. She was in a mental health crisis. In school, at breaktime and lunchtime (not during lessons), she would sometimes use her phone to message me or her mum. 1/

We are heartbroken to announce the passing this morning of our beloved Sophie (aka Maddy, aka Mummy). She died peacefully, with her final days filled with her true loves: family and music and warmth and Christmas and joy. We can't imagine what life will be like without her. 1.

Walking through Liverpool town centre this Christmas feels… strange. One of the busiest streets of all Church Street — and not a single set of Christmas lights in sight. No sparkle overhead. No festive glow. Just rows of shops and crowds passing through without that familiar seasonal atmosphere. For a city that usually does Christmas so well, it feels like something important is missing this year. It’s not about extravagance it’s about spirit. Those lights used to lift the mood, make the cold evenings feel warmer, and remind everyone that Christmas was on the way. Without them, it all just feels a bit flat. Anyone else notice it? Or feel like the magic is quietly fading?

Despite the fact that there's an INCREDIBLY strong economic argument in favour of ending mass-migration, the core of the argument is based upon retaining culture and heritage.

This is outrageous. Nobody who’s been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK should have that rescinded unless they abuse that status by committing a crime.

Raising kids is a huge cost to public infrastructure, you don't peak as a net tax contributor until your mid 50s, I can almost GUARANTEE you that 27 offspring in only 60-70 years represents a net drain unless someone in the family is an extremely high earner.

If they aren't even citizens then they've contributed very little, not even enough to cover the £1,700 naturalisation.

Where are you from?” His lip quivered a bit, and he said, “I know you hate Russia, but I am from there.” That made me realize I need to say: I don’t hate Russia or Russians—I hate what Putin has done to Ukraine and Syria. I don’t hate Palestinians, but I hate what the leaders of Hamas did on October 7th. I don’t hate Israel or Israelis, but I hate the death, suffering, and destruction Netanyahu has wrought on Gaza. And I love my country, but I hate the authoritarian tactics and divisiveness that Trump is wielding to tear us apart and destroy what we stand for. Bad leaders will deploy the power of nations to enrich themselves, silence opposition, and maim and kill—but that doesn’t make the people of those nations bad. Instead, I think bad leaders call us all to action: to stand up and fight for what’s right and to protect those who can’t protect themselves. My flight attendant grew up watching Sam, Dean, and Cas doing just that—fighting till their last breaths to save the world from the forces of evil. I think there’s a reason we take inspiration from those stories—in our hearts we know: we’ve got work to do.

Smart, excellent soldiers. Quiet professionals. They care. Some of them are as angry at IDF carelessness as we all are. The defamation campaign over GHF is an obscenity. These are the best of us, doing the best they can to make these Gazans’ lives a tiny bit better.
