As an autistic person, Way too many people in this fandom treat Shane as if he’s a diagnosed, high support needs autistic child instead of what he actually is: a very low support needs autistic adult who’s not only undiagnosed, but has absolutely no clue he’s autistic.

idk, to me shane’s flaw in tlg isn’t that he’s oblivious/insensitive to ilya’s needs or self centered. he DOES understand ilya’s moods and body language (eg ep1 press conference). the problem is he can’t regulate his anxiety, just like how ilya can’t regulate his depression

it’s actually insane how shanes way of steeling himself after his father walks in on them is to kneel at ilya’s feet. like we don’t spend enough time on that i think
