@cgtnafrica this might be a smart move since there are so many ghanians out of work due to galamsey. We don't need foreigners working in ghana, especially not when they are here illegally

Ghana has ordered foreign mining companies to rely exclusively on local contractors by December or face sanctions. However, the mineworkers’ union, which represents about 14,000 employees, has opposed the directive, arguing that local firms often pay lower wages and provide less job security. Union president Abdul Moomin Gbana has warned that the policy could trigger strikes and protests. While some companies have already begun complying, the union says it will continue to resist the move.

@kduahjr @AnnanPerry It’s funny how a person who’s actively part of the looters of Ghana and damaging our water bodies, actively still defend galamsey, is the same person questioning whether someone is anointed, and you expect her reaction to be normal. That’s a foolish mad woman right there.

@GalamseyBot This is all because of the Chinese. They are the ones who keep falling for the lies of the galamsey fraudsters who say that they will help them mine but then they just take the gold and leave the Ghanians with nothing

@thomasjeff007 @ClintonEaglee @Chude_ND1 We absolutely need to nationalize them. They are the ones who keep falling for the trap of corruption and allowing galamsey to continue.

@ClintonEaglee @Chude_ND1 Ghana should nationalize all South African–owned mining companies operating in the country, including Tarkwa Gold Mine, Damang Gold Mine, AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Gold Mine, Iduapriem Gold Mine, and Harmony Gold.

@withAlvin__ It’s not about that! The impact Nigerians are having over our women here in Ghana now is it jealousy or making Ghanaian women think Ghanaian men are lazy while’s we all know they are in Ghana only to do fraud! They must go and I support their claim

@TimeWithDoss @withAlvin__ Ghana is magical because we have the power to make it even more magical. All of the issues you mention are because we are letting the Chinese abuse us. We need to wake up and realize that we don't have to put up with galamsey

There is something about Ghana that when financial problems clears from your eyes, you will always be drawn to Ghana. Ghana is magical and one of the few places on earth where true love and community exists. In the midst of dumsor and Galamsey, there is something priceless about being a Ghanaian. My heart is filled with pride just for being a Ghanaian. I can’t explain what exactly is the reason but the feeling is there. Proud Ghanaian

Ghana Man was asked if he will accept $1 million dollars not to go back to Ghana 🇬🇭 again His answer was NO! This is what South Africans & people around the world don’t get. To most Ghanaians and Ghana, it’s not all about money, just the decency and peace of mind is golden! This is why I love Ghana 🇬🇭 and will always call it home!

@dest_king14 @UnclePerry_ @that_girldivy But Ghana is still very behind economically because you lack the reasoning capability of accepting that you are being oppressed by your own fellow ghanians and that has never happened in South Africa. Which means ya'll are just greedy corrupt people incapable of leading yourself

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has converged at the Independence Square in Accra to stage a protest over the continued unemployment of qualified teachers from the 2022 batch. The demonstration, which forms part of the association’s ongoing demands for the restoration of the automatic posting policy, is expected to begin at Independence Square, proceed to the Jubilee House, and end at the Ministry of Finance. #Ghanatalksradio

@AriseGhYouth4 @LungeloMotsopa @S_OkudzetoAblak The Chinese are definitely taking advantage of Ghana. They are depleting our resources and dumping their garbage in our waters. We need to wake up and realize that they are not here as our friends but as our economic oppressors.

Earlier today I summoned the Acting South African High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Thando Dalamba. At the meeting, I conveyed the Government of Ghana’s strong condemnation of the continuous xenophobic attacks on Ghanaians and other Africans living in South Africa. We are urging South African authorities to take decisive action in protecting the human rights and dignity of our nationals and all Africans. Ghana equally expects that the promised investigations be expedited and all perpetrators punished to serve as adequate deterrence. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will communicate other steps we have taken in due course.

@ColaCarioca @Afrikanticha3 Maybe not an Aztec-level collapse, but losing rivers to galamsey is serious. Rivers feed farms and irrigation. When the water goes, crops follow. Ghana can still restore these systems if land and water are protected.

I am currently engaging with Thando Dalamba, Acting South African High Commissioner to Ghana, via Bongani Lukhele from Department of Trade, Industry and Competition media office. My message is simple and firm: we will not tolerate any nonsense or actions that undermine our country. Department of International Relations and Cooperation must wake up and act decisively. South Africa is a sovereign nation — it does not belong to the ANC, nor to the GNU. It belongs to its citizens. And as citizens, we will continue to assert our voice and defend our country. Ghana can go to hell if they can't respect our laws. @GhanaMFA @DIRCO_ZA @the_dtic @S_OkudzetoAblak @RonaldLamola
