I hate conversations about corruption in the premier league. I don’t think they are valid. Especially on the pitch. I wholeheartedly believe in the integrity of our game. But when you see a two footed challenge on Bissouma today that doesn’t get a red. And then the most blatant handball you’ll ever see in the West Ham game. Explain it to me? There is no argument on the planet that can explain away that handball. The VAR have seen what we’ve seen, and decided it isn’t a penalty. What is their reason?

John Brooks was on VAR for Man Utd vs Leeds on and City vs Arsenal this week. He decides to intervene and send Martinez off for violent conduct for an accidental hair pull but ignores Gabriel trying to head butt Haaland. How is Licha getting a three match ban while Gabriel gets a yellow for that? Clearly scared because the impact of Gabriel missing three games would be huge for Arsenal.

VAR needs to explain when an attempted headbutt stopped being violent conduct because we must have missed it

The concept of VAR is fantastic and football would probably be better off if it was used well given how hard being a referee actually is. But what is the point when multiple big decisions are being ignored every single week? The inconsistency is woeful.
