i will say... you gotta have some thick skin to do social for a living the amount of trash talk you hear on a daily basis is insane i've had literal death threats (gotta love crypto), multiple hack attempts, and hundreds (thousands?) of people saying inappropriate stuff part of it is bc you're operating behind a faceless brand part of it is just people wanting attention but part of it is also bc people don't expect you to acknowledge them (and are usually somewhat cordial when you do -- "oh snap, i didn't think you'd respond") TLDR: if it stresses you out when people say mean things towards you then pick another profession

as much as I’d advise against fundraising in peak summer months, it seems like we’re in a moment where everyone is super locked in and dealflow is sustaining if not accelerating rn anecdotally, several friends who are typically fairly slow moving / only do a few deals per year are much more active
