@robbierocket7 @SkyNewsAust $1.2m in revenue is bugger all. $3.9m valuation is highly unlikely as company unlikely to be profitable. Try harder with your BS comments as they are so clearly non-objective.

@SkyNewsAust so a guy whose company, It's Simple Finance, has an estimated annual revenue of roughly AUD $1.2 million and a business valuation around AUD $3.9 million (according to one data aggregator) is complaining about having to pay tax? you really need to try harder

@scottjduffy @senatorbabet Gold is a means of exchange and unless it attracts interest, which it doesn’t, should not be taxed! Fiat currency, which is so widely abused by dumb politicians, decreases in value compared to gold.

@senatorbabet So if you buy Gold, and the price of Gold goes up... Did you risk any money? Did you build any business? Is there work? We need to separate out price speculation ("the price of this asset will go up in the future") from investing in businesses and doing work, for tax purposes.

Capital gains tax shouldn’t exist. I risk my money. I build the business. I make the investment. I do the work. I take the risk. So why the hell should the government take a cut of my success? They risk nothing. They create nothing. They just take. Parasites. F’en parasites.

QQQ has broken through its trend line if you draw it from 7/10/24 to 10/29/25, and is starting to reverse. Combine that with insane upside moves and speculation, tell me the market has gotten ahead of itself. So I would advise caution and reduce exposure. At a minimum, the uptrend needs a pause to rebuild bases.

@CHall_Au @garyseconomics Annual property and death taxes! Sounds like European socialism! Watch a massive capital exit out of Oz if this happens. The supply side issues like government charges, land release, CFMEU tax, labour shortages should be targeted first.

The tax system is behind Australia's housing problem. Not immigrants. Not developers. Not interest rates. The CGT exemption on the family home is locking up supply, hoarding wealth and pricing out the next generation. Full video response to @garyseconomics youtu.be/zkWPhqx6wQc

Trump has taken the US and the world into extremely dangerous lawlessness with his usurpation of Venezuelan sovereignty. Venezuela’s oil and its exploitation by US vested interests via a local Trump puppet regime is the criminal objective. Xi, Putin will be emboldened by this.
Michael Pascoe@MichaelPascoe01

For any journalist mindlessly repeating Trump's claim that Venezuela stole US oil and land, it's a lie. Here’s the history via WaPo. wapo.st/4smUTLL

The Australian Government is monitoring developments in Venezuela. We urge all parties to support dialogue and diplomacy in order to secure regional stability and prevent escalation. Australia has long held concerns about the situation in Venezuela, including the need to respect democratic principles, human rights and fundamental freedoms. We continue to support international law and a peaceful, democratic transition in Venezuela that reflects the will of the Venezuelan people. Australians in Venezuela who need assistance can contact the 24/7 emergency consular assistance team at +61 2 6261 3305 from anywhere in the world or 1300 555 135 from within Australia.

Oh, spare me the sanctimonious sermon. Yes, big SUVs and utes are heavier and taller—shocker, physics works. But let’s not pretend the roads are suddenly a war zone because Karen finally traded in her Corolla for a vehicle that doesn’t bottom out on every pothole. Pedestrians and cyclists get hit by everything from delivery vans to e-bikes these days; singling out “megautes” is just fashionable class warfare against anyone who needs to tow a boat, haul gear, or simply feel safe when some distracted Prius driver veers into their lane. And that “twice as many utes as tradies” line? Cute statistic, until you remember half the country lives regional, has kids in sport, goes camping, or just doesn’t want to scrape dog hair off the boot liner of a hatchback every week. People buy them because they’re useful, not because some evil tax loophole whispered sweet nothings in their ear.Remove the luxury car tax exemption and watch prices go up across the board—congratulations, you’ve just made family vehicles even less affordable for actual working people while virtue-signaling on X feels exactly the same. Meanwhile, the real road toll keeps coming from speeding, phones, and fatigue, but sure, let’s fix it all by forcing everyone into low-riding eco-boxes that crumple like foil when a roo jumps out at dusk. Brilliant plan. Truly saving lives, one guilt trip at a time.

Large SUVs and utes are 82% more likely to kill children in collisions- 44% more likely to kill adult pedestrians or cyclists. They damage our roads and add to air pollution, harming our health. There’s twice as many utes as tradies in Australia. We need remove the luxury car tax exemption which incentivises people to buy megautes instead of safer, cleaner smaller cars and SUVs. theage.com.au/national/victo…
