I’m sympathetic but I’m going to push back. You are in control to a great degree. Yes, your pepper spray and context SHOULD be huge risk minimizers but it happened anyway. That’s disheartening. Senseless violence is natural and inevitable to some extent, but your personal risk is controlable. It’s still a statistics game, and risk never goes to zero, so I’m not victim blaming in any sense. It can just be being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But also there is something to learn. My line of questioning is more abt learning defensive lessons. Why was he approached? Where was he? What context made him a victim, how can I avoid that context myself? Please continue to carry pepper spray. I hope that your incident does not devalue the real control such a small tool actually gives you.

I completely understand! It’s one of those things where I think we would all like to feel super in control - much like how people ask cancer patients “well did you smoke?” To feel like we have control over escaping something, but the sad reality is so often horrible things happen to people who didn’t provoke it at all, it’s that’s the case here or not 😔💔 I used to be really high and mighty that I “keep my head on a swivel” and carry pepper spray but being attacked standing 2 feet outside my appartment lobby door waiting for an uber while on the phone with my best friend and with pepper spray in my hand genuinely humbled me 😭 it made me really digest that sometimes people are just horrible for no reason and sometimes you actually can’t see it coming

Henry Nowak was stabbed in the back of the legs while he was trying to escape. That’s not self defense. That’s murder.

@Test906030 @clementinetown @C_3C_3 Thank you. Very obviously some kind of initial conflict that was unclear, I think my phrasing may have inferred I was placing blame on the victim, but this is very clean and explanatory

Appreciate the time and thoughts in this comment. I was very intentional and truthful in my original comment abt it being “unjustifiable” regardless of whether or not there was a confrontation that led to this savage crime. Perhaps just the adjective “unjustifiable” was insufficient, and I had to present my antithesis to the preconception my question clearly was leading towards within a sophist and political X platform. I’m coming from a safety perspective. I think immigration of the types of ppl who commit this crime, regardless of how it initiated, requires a policy reversal. But I also want to understand how these hoorible crimes happen and how I can avoid being a victim. I know how to do it from a political lens, but it’s less clear at the individual level. That’s all.

I don’t think anyone’s speculation is beneficial at this point, it’s all conjecture, that’s my honest opinion No words incite murder, so to me it matters very little, but I don’t think there’s reason (such as social media posts or past reports) to support any kind of verbal conflict especially coming from Henry, with all that said some people are caught on off days - I was assaulted once by a person who thought I was recording him, I wasn’t I just had my phone to my ear on the phone and he was likely on drugs or insane. I don’t think any sort of motive would “excuse” the crime whatsoever, especially attacking someone as they flee, so to me any words exchanged (if true) would be close to irrelevant - and the murderer obviously has a motive to lie to make himself look better, so any speculation is honestly completely without base and irrelevant in my opinion, unless there some video or something that layer comes out. But even then no words would justify this crime.

At the end of my last comment I explained my context. 100% with you on the political / societal / cultural response that should be extremely quick, harsh, and forward looking to prevent similar incidents. But you present yourself like you’re well read on it. So you should be able to form a view within a different context for me once you’ve divorced my intent from what you’re imagining it to be.

@simon__kenton @C_3C_3 It doesn’t matter to me. Murder is murder, and killing someone is a savage act whether the victim was fleeing or standing face-to-face. The details may affect the circumstances, but they don’t change the fact that an innocent person was killed. Unless both people welding knife

Did you not read my comment? I said it was unjustifiable from the get go. That “no?” I ended with was an invitation to correct my presumption if I was wrong, which I clearly was and have already reneged on to ppl who have commented in good faith (not you). I’m trying to understand. You’re imagining me as something I’m not.

Not Sure, Secretary of the Interior
@simon__kenton @AnEnglishName1 @C_3C_3 No. You stated that it must have happened. Context is fine, but let's not pretend that its a foregone conclusion anything happened before the stabbing. Anyone justifying killing someone over an insult clearly is capable of lying about the whole thing.

@clementinetown @C_3C_3 Thank you for being fact based which is what my question was intended as, was not trying to be leading. As someone familiar with the facts, do you have a view on intent? Clearly racial and immigration-conflict related by nature, but why him, why then?

Body first or legs first? Running away, stabbed in the leg, then finished off via chest, vs attacked face to face (which implies some initial rift and an ability to deescalate) and chasing down are fundamentally different, even if the political conclusion (evict savages, bc it’s savage either way) is the same. I’m going there soon and my question is more safety based than it is policy based.

Didn’t realize there was a hiding footage element to this story. That fact alone presumably makes the murderer look way worse. If the kid started some shit (retroactively, that’s clearly what my Q implied and got ppl commenting, but I wasn’t trying to imply that), that footage would’ve been immediately released to humanize the immigrant.

@simon__kenton @C_3C_3 There is more to this story, which is why the police body cam footage hasn't been released and why there's a media black hole around the story. If the facts made the white guy look bad, they would be screaming it from the roof tops

@Captain_C2 @C_3C_3 Just saw another comment justifying the arteries, my Q was coming from a bad medical context. I’ll renege (to the extent that my question was leading). With you on “get this fucker and anyone sympathetic to him out of here” either way. Just feels like there’s more to the story.

@Captain_C2 @C_3C_3 Any arteries in the back of your legs? I don’t think so but I’m not a medical guy. He was climbing over a fence so I’m assuming calf injury but ig something really deep top hamstring could’ve done it.

@AlexClark114 @C_3C_3 Thank you. I didn’t know there were arteries in the back of the leg (I only know the front quad ones) so my question was from a lack of medical context. Double checking your work , it was probably the posterior tibial?

@simon__kenton @C_3C_3 You slice an artery in the back of the legs and have to SIT THERE in cuffs for a while you will definitely bleed out. It amazes me that people do not understand how quickly 4 pints, or a FATAL blood loss, can happen.

@AnEnglishName1 @C_3C_3 Very difficult to get inside his brain of a murderer / retard foreigner / invader but there must have been a trigger. This guy was living there some time and wouldve driven through a Christmas market if he was maximizing damage. Had to be interpersonal to some extent.
