It was an honor to welcome so many incredible leaders and advocates to Barcelona for the inaugural Global Progressive Summit — a first-of-its-kind gathering that brought together thousands from over 100 countries and organizations. For the first time, partners including Progressive Alliance, Global Progress, and the Party of European Socialists came together under one roof, alongside a broad coalition of movements and leaders committed to advancing a more just and democratic future.

It’s good news that the Strait of Hormuz has now reopened. This must be a long lasting and workable solution, without tolls or restrictions on routes. Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation. We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.

It is particularly troubling that the Prime Minister was not given salient information on the appointment of the most senior Ambassadorial post in British politics when that information was in-fact apparently available. 2/5

It is both incredibly unfortunate and gravely concerning that the most senior official in @FCDOGovUK may have withheld information from the Foreign Secretary regarding the vetting of Lord Mandelson as the US Ambassador. 1/5

My pleasure to welcome @Keir_Starmer @AndyBurnhamGM and @bphillipsonMP to Holy Trinity primary school in Ashton this morning. 33 new free breakfast clubs will open across Greater Manchester this week, giving 10,000 more children a free, healthy start to the school day. That’s Labour on your side. 🌹

Tories and Reform are shitting themselves as Starmer moves ever closer to rejoining the EU with the support of the majority of UK population.

This is the difference a @UKLabour government makes. Unlike the Tories who splurged billions to pay the energy bills of high-earners, @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP are providing targeted support only to those who need it. This is a government that treats taxpayers’ money with respect.

Morgan McSweeney had his phone stolen, along with every message he had with Peter Mandelson's, in a oddly "convenient coincidence". The News Agents are keeping "an open mind", but there are serious questions about the loss of such crucial evidence... thenewsagents.co.uk/article/how-a-…

This is not good news given what will now happen to UK finances as a result of the war on Iran. And perhaps we can have some silence from all those who piled to exaggerate the significance of January’s freak figures. The UK borrowed a higher than expected £14.3bn in February. The shortfall between government spending and income was £2.2bn higher than in the same month a year ago and far above the £8.5bn forecast by economists polled by Reuters. At a time of peril for nation’s finances it is frightening to have R Reeves as Chancellor.

I’m proud of our tolerant and diverse country. I’m proud that in Trafalgar Square we celebrate all faiths. That’s British values. The comments from Nick Timothy are shameful. Kemi Badenoch should do the right thing and sack him.

Tomorrow on @ItvMLshow I'll be doing a short pre-rec interview with the Sec of State for Energy @Ed_Miliband specifically on Home Heating oil and LPG intervention (not wider issues). Do you have any practical questions on that you'd like me to ask him (times short so can't promise all)

@DanielJHannan @AartiJo5hi @TiceRichard An offshore trust is an odd thing for a UK resident/domiciled individual to use. Positively tax-inefficient. I don’t know why Mr Tice used one, but they’re associated with aggressive/unlawful schemes. A non-close REIT is also highly unusual. Fair to ask him what’s going on

It’s hardly my job to defend @TiceRichard. But there is nothing wrong with legal tax avoidance. Legal tax avoidance is what you do when you buy an ISA. If you dislike the specific arrangements he had, change the rules. But don’t complain that he was following existing rules.
