I’m excited to announce a new feature-length documentary project I’m working on with my co-director @apoolos about Russia’s efforts to eradicate Evangelical Christians from the map of Ukraine to impose Russian Orthodoxy as the state religion. “what people underestimate is that if Hungary stops vetoing vital EU action in the European Council, that’s a major breakthrough… You don’t have to have Magyar go out and say: ‘We’re enthusiastic about helping Ukraine or everything the EU does.’” theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

Who said TikTok was just for dance videos? @NewsHour has started posting full length stories and my piece about the abuse Russia’s military puts its own soldiers through to force them to fight has nearly 10M views on the platform. Wild.

I look at a lot of horrific videos from the war in Ukraine as part of my job, but sometimes I still can’t understand what I’m seeing. For my latest @NewsHour piece @SethGJones and Alexandra Arkhipova explain why so many Russian soldiers can be seen limping into battle on crutches

It's astonishing that you, a world leader who many respected for standing up to an illegal attack on your country, now support an illegal attack on another country. It completely kills your credibility. Right now. Iran is Ukraine. You may not like to hear that but that is a fact
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.

In the same press conference where Vance admits “I’m here to help [Orban] in this campaign cycle,” he accuses Ukraine of having “tried to put their thumb on the scale” of the Hungarian election. Talk about rules for thee but not for me…

Attacks on civilian infrastructure may not only be a crime, they are also bad strategy. As someone who has observed the Ukraine war closely I can tell you that 4 years of attacks on infrastructure have only united the people against Russia and brought Moscow no closer to victory.

@FittingMechani1 Yes, he seems to be saying in a round about way that you shouldn’t jump to conclusions about Ukraine’s involvement. He is certainly saying other things too.

@SimonOstrovsky My take was that he pushed back on the narrative that Serbian Army would participate in a false flag to blame Ukrainians. He just said the explosive manufacturer doesn't mean that they ordered it and later said explosives are from USA.

Wow. The head of Serbia’s military intel pushes back on the narrative being spread by Orban accusing Ukraine of planting the explosives found by a gas pipeline that goes to Hungary. Calls it disinformation.
Csaba Tóth 🇸🇴@tothcsabatibor

Extraordinary statement by Serbian VOA head Lt. Colonel Đuro Jovanić accusing president Aleksandar Vučić and state leaders of "being sceptical" about their earlier reports on plans for a pipeline sabotage, and denying in strong words allegations of involvement to frame Ukraine.

💥What we’ve all feared is happening: Hungarian Russia expert András Rácz wrote three days ago about a potential Russia-backed false flag attack in Serbia targeting the gas pipeline to Hungary. The same information had already reached multiple journalists, including myself, weeks earlier, from sources connected to Hungarian government circles. Now Viktor Orbán has announced that Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić informed him about “explosives of devastating power” found at the gas pipeline connecting the two countries. Orbán and his propaganda machine are already amplifying the news everywhere, with the prime minister convening his security cabinet. It remains unclear what measures the government might take using this alleged false flag operation as a pretext. But if the second part of the information we received also proves true, Orbán could declare a state of emergency, significantly affecting the election campaign—which he is currently losing—and potentially disrupting the organization of the April 12 election. The opposition Tisza Party has been widening its lead to 15–20 points, if not more. Orbán accuses them of being "Ukrainian agents" for months. His propaganda would very soon link the Serbian false-flag both to Ukraine and the Tisza Party, I have no doubts about that. I encourage all foreign reporters covering the Hungarian election to pay close attention and not fall for the government’s propaganda or the narratives pushed by its pundits on the Orbán government payroll, including here on X. The situation could soon be very serious.

New research estimates Russian forces have suffered more than 1 million casualties in its war against Ukraine. At the same time, Russia's territorial gains have been some of the slowest in modern history. Special correspondent @SimonOstrovsky got a rare look at the Kremlin's war machine. In this report, he reveals the brutality and the corruption eating away at the Russian military from the inside. Warning: This report includes scenes that viewers may find disturbing.
