@PeterObi please sir, when you assume office, I plead thee to decentralize Nigeria and let every state have its own laws and policing system...
Cyborg Warlord@Admiral_Cyborg

America has 50 states. And every single one of them operates under its own laws, courts, policing systems, and legal culture while still being bound by federal law. That is the difference. The United States understood something long ago that Nigeria still refuses to confront: You cannot effectively govern hundreds of millions of people with completely different realities from one central authority. In America, federal law handles national matters: immigration national security constitutional rights interstate crimes currency But individual states control much of what affects daily life: policing criminal justice business regulations education taxation property law civil disputes So what works in Texas does not have to be forced on California. What works in Florida does not automatically become law in New York. Each state adapts to its own people, culture, economy, crime rate, and social realities. That decentralization is one of the greatest strengths of the American system. It creates speed. It creates accountability. It creates competition between states. It prevents dangerous levels of power concentration. And most importantly, it allows local problems to be solved locally. Meanwhile Nigeria calls itself a federation, but operates like an overprotected unitary state wearing a federal costume. Everything leads back to Abuja. Security? Abuja. Policing? Abuja. Major judicial power? Abuja. Revenue dependence? Abuja. Even governors that are called “Chief Security Officers” cannot fully control police operations in their own states. Think about how absurd that is. A governor can watch insecurity spread in real time and still wait for federal approval before meaningful action can happen. That is not federalism. That is administrative dependency. Nigeria is trying to centrally manage over 200 million people across completely different ethnic, economic, religious, and security realities as if Sokoto and Port Harcourt experience the same problems. They do not. And the damage is obvious. Our courts are overloaded. Judicial processes move at a painful pace. Security coordination is weak. States wait for federal allocations instead of building real economic independence. Every election becomes a war because too much power is concentrated at the center. Control Abuja and you practically control the country. That is why political tension in Nigeria is always explosive. Too much authority sits in one place. America distributed power intentionally. Nigeria concentrates power dangerously. And that difference affects everything from policing efficiency to judicial speed to economic development. The American system is not perfect. Far from it. But one thing it understood correctly is this: Local realities require local solutions. Nigeria still governs like every state is the same country inside the same problem. It is one of the biggest reasons governance keeps failing, institutions remain weak, and justice feels painfully distant from the average citizen.

I asked a girl what she thinks about prenup, and she boldly told me she's never gonna sign that. I told her that as far as am alive I will never allow her ruin any man's life. Unless she mistakenly marry and I no no.
Oyindamola🙄@dammiedammie35

Women are acting as if Prenup only favour men, it favours woman too nau, if divorce happens, him too won’t have any claim to your properties, Abi na only man dey get properties? It goes both ways. I really don’t understand why they’re making it about the men only. It’s something everyone should sign with joy ✍️

Peter Obi@PeterObi

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I have read about the court-ordered detention of an individual known as B-Lord, and I must say this clearly that no one should celebrate the incarceration of any person under the color of law. I have reached out to my astute rights lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, urging him to disengage from the process. We must all agree that sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. Rather, it risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens. Justice must never be reduced to punishment for its own sake. I will work to ensure this case is discontinued and B-Lord is released without further delay.

Person Don mumu for this life o. I remembered after I broke up with this guy, I removed all my clothes and went stark nãked in the midnight. Naso I begin to fire prayer that this guy will suffër for 600 years and that he’d give birth to girls, and that men will break his daughters’ hearts the way he broke my heart. Foto. This guy is currently doing well and he has 4 boys. I’m saying this because many ladies are on this table, but you know what? Those curses will never work. God isn’t from your village. It’s another advantage if the man has a father because all the curses you feel you’ve placed on him won’t pass the ceiling of your room. Shalom!

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026

To a lot of people, Medhi can hold politicians accountable because he’s a white man, but a lot of Nigerians are not wired to see a black man like Rufai holding politicians accountable. Today, when Rufai said, “Don’t interrupt me” to a white man, they lost their minds because of colonialism. How dare Rufai say to a white man, “Don’t interrupt me”? So to them, he must be rude, especially when the white man is from a nation that Christianity has taught them to worship! The problem with Nigerians is in their heads. It will take years to change!

@tobilobaayo12 @ruffydfire Tell him. While I appreciate the depth of Rufai’s analysis, it often feels overshadowed by a need for grandstanding. It seems the years of praise for his tenacity have stripped him of a 'reverse gear,' making his interviews feel more like a performance than a dialogue.

Holding someone accountable isn't about being rude or answering a question with another question. I've noticed a pattern in your approach: you often inject your bias under the guise of questioning, dominate the conversation, and interrupt your guests when they try to contribute. Your main issue seems to be that you have preconceived notions about the answers you want to hear, and when your guests don't align with those expectations, you become dismissive. Perhaps consider these adjustments: 1. Listen actively and allow your guests to fully express their thoughts. 2. Frame questions neutrally to encourage genuine discussion. 3. Be open to perspectives that differ from your own.

They should have just adopted after 4 years. The children would be in University by now. The children would have been raised from Obasanjo’s tenure when life was better, and wrapping up under Tinubu. Now, they are in their 40s at least, beginning the raising of 6 kids in Tinubu’s regime. You call it a miracle. I say, it is well. Hope the kids passed both maternity and paternity DNA tests.

iShowSpeed's recent tour of Africa unintentionally revealed some uncomfortable truths that we need to address. Other African countries clearly understood the assignment. South Africa offered him three days of well-organized, creative experiences, including car racing and visits to zoos and wildlife reserves. Eswatini maintained the safari vibe, while Rwanda provided gorilla encounters and structured activities. Kenya impressed with vibrant matatus, cultural dances, and authentic Maasai tribe experiences, showcasing history, nature, and pride. The result? Record streams, global attention, and respect. However, Nigeria's presentation was disorganized. Upon arrival in Lagos, iShowSpeed was met by aggressive street touts demanding money. The behavior of some "celebrities" was embarrassing. An interview with Egungun was awkward, filled with pointless questions and mispronunciations. Other personalities chased clout but were ignored. There was a lack of coordination and structure, replaced by inflated egos. Instead of showcasing Nigeria's culture, creativity, and history, iShowSpeed was overwhelmed with noise, superficial celebrity, and desperation, making the experience feel more like begging than tourism. Consequently, he left the next day, not out of dislike for Nigeria, but because no one could provide him with a worthwhile experience, even for a single day. While other countries used creativity to gain global respect, Nigeria's reputation as the "giant of Africa" suffered. The celebrities failed to promote the country, instead dragging it down with chaos, noise, and poor planning. This was more than just a bad impression; it was a missed opportunity and a wake-up call. We are capable of better, but only if we are honest with ourselves.

We have endured a long and challenging night. We managed to avert the immediate risk of war. We did not allow Europe to issue a declaration of war on Russia by using Russian assets. This plan would have dragged Europe into war and imposed a financial burden of 1000 billion HUF on Hungary. We succeeded in protecting Hungarian families from this. At the same time, 24 member states decided to grant a war loan to Ukraine for the next two years. If Ukraine is unable to repay the loan, those European countries will have to cover the repayment. Thankfully, the V3 cooperation is active once again: Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic have decided not to get on that train. By doing so, we spared our children and grandchildren from the burden of this massive €90 billion loan. Hungary’s share of the war loan would have been more than 400 billion HUF. The bad news is that war preparations are clearly continuing in Brussels. Hungary remains the voice of peace in Europe and will not let Hungarian taxpayers’ money be used to finance Ukraine. Only a government of patriots can guarantee peace and ensure that Hungarian funds are not sent to Ukraine. If there were a Brusselian government in Hungary, they'd push Hungary into war and spend every last dime on supporting Ukraine. We cannot and will not allow this to happen!
