@scalajos Interesting approach, so using graal vm makes a difference in terms of IntelliJ IDEA? That´s suprising, since I bet IntelliJ would never be able to run in native mode utilizing the power of a native compiled executable.

@simonscholz Not on RC but did 2 things which worked for me : 1) starting with the shell script, not the binary starter, so I could (just in case) easily find and kill the faulty process 2) change jvm in the launch script to use graal 22 instead of the default jre (didn't tried other jre)

In case you´re also using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and face freezes of #IntelliJ IDEA you´d might want to update to the latest RC (2024.2.-RC), which resolved the issues for me. Also see reddit.com/r/Jetbrains/co…

As a library author, consider every config option you add a small defeat. Each new knob, each setting makes your lib a little bit harder to use. Be very careful with how you spend the complexity budget you have, and fight back as much as you can.

@gunnarmorling @lukaseder The JDT project of Eclipse has a really good and performant AST implementation. @martinlippert confirmed this last week during his talk at JUG HH ;)

@lukaseder Yes, pretty much. I was thinking of a javac plug-in, I don't think the annotation processing API exposes the AST for comments.
